We just had dd 6 month appointment. She is doing great, and the size of a 1 year old (no joke haha). She is at every milestone she should be at, minus one. She isn't babbling - the doctor and I decided to give it another month and then maybe have it checked out after that. I know it could be a bunch of things, big one she is cutting teeth currently, or maybe she is just a quiet baby? She does laugh, cry, sqeal (this just started within the past week), and does respond to sights and sounds. I am not overly worried but I am worried... its hard not to be I guess.
I'm writing this I guess to get it out of my brain for a second but also to see if any other moms had/have a quiet baby and any other tips...
We talk to her, I am getting better at it (its just awkward to me sometimes), and rarely have the tv on, sing, read, play games... my head hurts from trying to figure this out..
TIA for the support or advice!!
Re: Babbling
Give another month. At our 6 month appointment, LO wasn't either. It's like someone flipped a switch in the last week or so.
I wouldn't worry. Every baby is different. Your LO could just be focused on some other milestone and "forgets" to babble. Don't get stressed out. Like PP said, who knows what next week brings.
I know you feel silly taking to her but do it. I narrate my whole day, and try to look at her so she can see my expressions and words. I'm sure that's what helped Dd1 who is a verbal champ. It's worth feeling silly when they finally respond.
