My apologies in advance if I've missed any updates between last check in and this one!  Please update us on what's going on with you and how you're feeling!

RN536 ? I hope you had (or are still having) a great time in Cape Cod! You should be half-way through your 2WW, how are you feeling?

Pintobean39 ? (((hugs))) and I hope you are doing well.  I lurked over on TTGP and saw that you are planning on starting to chart! Have you started yet? Cycles after a D&C can be really wonky so starting now might help you see what is going on with your body.

Veganlady ? congrats on completing the 30 day yoga challenge! I miss doing yoga and want to work it back into my schedule.

MsAmandaPants ? (((hugs))) lady. No more shitty things happening to you! I put my foot down! When do you see the new RE? I?m hoping he goes with what the previous RE said about clearing you.

Ashleypnut ? holly temp drop batman! With that E, I think Oing is in your very near future. Yay for being back off of the bench!  I saw yesterday you posted about your loss being due to trisomy 10 and that your doctor was blaming egg quality.  Unfortunately, for all of us, egg quality is definitely a concern.  I can?t remember if you had your AMH tested but that would give you a better idea. My RE has me taking 300 mg of CoQ10 everyday in order to give my eggs more energy to divide properly. He is a geneticist and felt pretty strongly about CoQ10 being beneficial.  He also discussed the fact that we do (AMAers in general) have higher odds of poor quality eggs and, thus, higher odds of losses because of those.  It is the nasty risk we have to confront and deal with as we move forward (((hugs)))

Anitaflora ? (((hugs))) lady. Your concert is coming up quickly! Are you excited?

Kiki4 ? Looks like your CHs are sticking in place! Did you end up going camping for the 4th?

Junebug060609 ? massive ((((hugs)))) lady. I am so sorry for all that is going on in your life.  More (((hugs))) and know that you and your family have been in my thoughts.

Ball.and.chain ? how are you doing? How is the new kitty?

Katib77 ? I know your consult is not until the end of the month but were you able to get your AMH testing under way?

To any of our other ladies who missed the last check-in: how are you?

?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~?~

Question of the Week: I posted the other day that I had read that walking was good for your uterus (gets the blood flowing). I, of course, immediately went for a walk. What crazy thing have you done in the name of TTC?

Re: *~*~AMA Weekly Check In ~*~* (BFP warning)

  • Happy Friday Ladies!  Congrats Ellajune & (((HUGS))) to all that are having a rough week.

As for me, no I need to go in sometime between cd5-cd10 for the saline sono, and since AF should arrive tomorrow or Sunday I'll schedule that soon and figure I'll just have them draw my AMH while I'm in there.  That way we'll have results of both well in time for the consult at the end of the month.  IVF here we come.

QOTW:  IDK, last cycle for the IUI I kept working out during the 2ww on my stairmaster because I figured the blood pumping had to help the ute since I'd not worked out any other treatment cycle.  But since that was BFN and now we'll be doing IVF I'll keep the working out to non treatment cycles.  I am on my feet and walking for work at least 25 hours a week, so there's that.  And like I'm sure many here I've chugged my share of POM wonderful juice.

  • Hey buggirl! I hope the studying is going well! Big congrats to ellajune and ((HUGS)) to all that need them!

Sorry I was MIA last week, we were out of town with little to no internet access. Not much new to report here. We had the consult with the RE two weeks ago and he suggested to use femara with TI. DH and I have decided to wait until October's cycle since we have a vacation planned for mid September. So we are currently NTNP until then. I have actually been somewhat zen during this 2ww, mostly because our timing wasn't the best.

Hello. I am 8DPO and our vacation is over and we are in our way home. Unfortunately our family got some bad news. My mother who is my best friend in the whole world was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer. I am shocked and devastated. With this news my 2 WW has changed in priority and I am not desperately hanging on to every symptom. As for unusual fertility things I don't think I have tried anything crazy except starting to take coq10 when I read it may help. Hugs to all who need them. I know I need a bunch.

I am so sorry to hear this. ((((((SUPER HUGS))))))

I'm glad they are able to get you in for all of the testing pre-consult. I would think they could do the AMH test when you go in for the saline-sono.

I used to be a front end supervisor at Home Depot, that type of job definitely has you on your feet and moving.

    Hiya Buggirl, and congrats Ellajune!

I was away last week, had an amazing time at the Harry Potter convention LeakyCon that I attended with my 18 year old daughter. I'm still working on getting some pictures ready for a post to share with everyone here. :)

I'm well into my 2WW although it's been an odd cycle so I'm not even sure how accurate my chart is with regards to DPO. I never got any positive OPKs and had wonky sleep and temps around that weekend before we left on our trip, FF said I O'd on CD12 but I only got dotted CHs. Yesterday I entered my temp and FF moved my CHs to CD14, now they're back at CD12, so who knows if I'm 9 or 11 DPO?

I've tried the POM juice and pineapple core, upping green tea intake pre-O, but probably the most out there thing I've done is making sure to give myself an orgasm after finishing FW sex in order to 'help those sperm along' *blush*

I've been watching your chart and don't know what to think also - but I'm hoping for the day that gives you the best timing!

I'm very jealous of the LeakyCon and can't wait to see pics!

ETA - how did I miss the part about making sure you have an orgasm! Reading fail on my part! A girl has got to do what she's got to do.

Wow, I didn't know that existed, but it sounds pretty cool. I am a HP geek. When the last book came out, I was camping with DH and friends. I woke up the morning it came out and drove to the nearest town to get a copy at the local Walmart.

Congrats ellajune! Wishing you a happy, healthy, and uneventful 9 months!

RN536, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. My father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, so I understand how devastating a diagnosis like the one your mom received. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers for the coming days/weeks/months.

As for me...crosshairs are still there, but my temps are still really low. I sound like a broken record, but I'm just not convinced I have O'd. I am toying with the idea of putting the BBT down, but I hate the thought of not knowing what my body is doing.

QOTD: The craziest thing I have done is starting EPO/Vitex/CoQ10 because it may help. I am seriously considering adding Maca in there too because I've read good stuff about it. I also won't get up right away after sex to make sure the swimmers have ample time to get where they need to be.

Hugs for all who need them.

I think I would go crazy by CD8 if I did not use my BBT.  I've read/heard good stuff about all of what you are taking. Are you stopping the EPO when you O?

  • Ok so I've been seeing lots about CoQ10 and last time I was at the store I looked it up on the shelf, but it specifically says on the bottle not to take during pregnancy so I chickened out and didn't get it. Could any of you who are taking it tell me when and how much you're taking, and how to reconcile taking it with it specifically saying not to be taken while pregnant? Would you then stop taking it as soon as you got a BFP?

  • Thanks buggirl for running this, especially while studying for the bar!  I work in a law firm (I'm a librarian, not a lawyer) so I have some sense of how intense it is.  I hope you rock it lady!

Congrats ellajune!  Hugs to everyone, especially RN536...I am so sorry to hear about your mom's diagnosis.  My mom had breast cancer and it is so hard to watch a loved one suffer, let alone to worry about what will happen to them.  You'll be in my thoughts.

New kitty is doing well!  After a couple of days of settling in her true feistiness started coming out.  Turns out she's more of a kitten than I thought and hasn't outgrown the habit of trying to grab our ankles/hands/faces(!) with her paws to play with us.  We're getting her some new interactive toys to keep her from getting bored and working on discouraging the claw grabs.  Today I got home from work early and convinced her to get on the bed with me while I finished a book -- she curled up against me with her head on my leg and went to sleep!  So I think she's starting to relax and learn how to just hang out, which is good.  I PPH her.

Nothing much new with me.  I would have been 12w yesterday and potentially announcing and I'm kind of bitter about that (and my upcoming first EDD), but trying not to dwell on it too much.  An old childhood friend who was in town yesterday had coffee with me and we had a great chat -- she knows about our struggles and has had 3 lovely boys via IVF -- it really cheered me up and made me feel more positive.

ETA: almost forgot the QOTD: I ate pineapple core duing a lot of my IUI cycles.  A lot of good it did me!

My RE has me taking 300mg a day. Kirkland brand has a pill that is that dose but I prefer GNC pills - I take 3 100mg pills in the morning.  I asked my RE about the not taking it while pregnant and he said to stop when a BFP happens.

I am toying with the idea of putting the BBT down, but I hate the thought of not knowing what my body is doing.QOTD: The craziest thing I have done is starting EPO/Vitex/CoQ10 because it may help. I am seriously considering adding Maca in there too because I've read good stuff about it. I also won't get up right away after sex to make sure the swimmers have ample time to get where they need to be.Hugs for all who need them.
I am sorry to hear about your dad. A cancer diagnosis is always rough and when it happens to someone you love dearly it's something like no one else can imagine. A have had a knot in my stomach for days and we don't have an appointment with an oncologist until next Friday so I know it will be awhile before she is actually treated. How's your dad? Hugs to you and thank you for the TPs. I used to not get up after Sex either but after a nasty UTI I know get up to pee real quick and then lay down again. Good luck this cycle

My dad passed away after a 2.5 year battle. Waiting for that first oncology appointment is hard. There are so many what if's that run through your mind. I'm not around very much - at least I lurk more than I post - if you ever need an ear, don't hesitate to PM me.

Junebug060609 ? massive ((((hugs)))) lady. I am so sorry for all that is going on in your life.  More (((hugs))) and know that you and your family have been in my thoughts.

Thank you so much for the hugs.  I can really use them.  This has been the worst week of my life.  I'm scared beyond words.  Struggling to wrap my head around what is apparently our reality and our new normal.  I have an apt on Monday with a counselor, my first ever.  I'm in so far over my head here...anxiety attacks, barely sleeping, dry heaving, lost 2.7 lbs in a week (stomach is so tense I just have no appetite).  In hindsight I should've started going after my last m/c, but at least I know this is too big to do alone.

Today is CD1 (well, I hope...I had some funky spotting this time around).  Doing CD3 b/w on Monday.  Not sure where we're going from here with TTC, but we figure with time not on our side that we might as well find out what the verdict is on why we aren't getting pregnant again.  At least from there we can make decisions knowing the facts.  My first apt with the RE is later this month.

  • I haven't started charting yet I just ordered the opk. Since I just had the Dnc last week not sure if I should start until after AF comes. The dr told me to take another 6 weeks of pelvic rest so I'm kinda benched anyway. Not sure how much longer I can take it I've been on pelvic rest since APRIL!!!!!!!!

I read that the other day about walking. I plan on trying to go to the gym Monday hopefully that will help. I can't walk because my feet are kinda messed up but the bicycle and I are friends and hopefully I can get my DH to go with me to help me do weights too.
    Fucking bump!!!!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm keeping you in my prayers. My mother was diagnosed with stage 5 metastic colon cancer when she was 46. I understand what you are going through. Praying they can treat her.

Eta: feel free to pm me if you ever need to talk. I remember with my mother I researched everything before the first oncology appt so I would understand what we were dealing with. I was 23 at the time and I believe I became very educated. It helped me to know what they were talking about on that first visit. Sorry I'm mobile.

(((hugs))) I'm glad you made the appointment with the counselor. It's not something that I talk about on TTCAL at all but I have a step-son that has the same diagnosis as your son. He's 15 now. His diagnosis did not happen until after he started school. There are a lot of resources out there to help you.

I think moving slowly forward with the RE is not a bad idea. Get your testing done, get some answers, and move forward from there.

Nothing wrong with waiting to start but we have had a couple people on the board who started charting after their DNC but before their first AF. They were glad they did because they ended up having a really long cycle. The charting let them see when they finally ovulated so it reduced the crazy to have some idea what was up with their body.

(((hugs))) honey.  We have a very similar situation going on in our household. This was a medicated cycle for us and I triggered yesterday so I know ovulation is happening tonight. It's frustrating but there is not much we can do about it at this point. It will either happen or it won't.
