Short attention span

I was just curious. My DD has been pretty fussy lately and wants to be held or entertained all day. She gets really fussy if she is laying in one spot for more than a minute. She has to be moved around constantly. Its hard to dine out because she hates sitting in one spot. I have seen other babies in public and they seem pretty content. Im wondering if I have spoiled my baby by holding her too often and constantly giving her attention. Should I be worried about this? Is it too soon to be worried about ADHD?

    In my opinion it is too early to worry about ADHD. I am a teacher and usually children are not diagnosed until school age. I also think this is being over diagnosed. All babies are different in nature and yours is just very active and alert. My DD is the same way. She does not sit still at any activity for a long period of time. I am constantly changing toys, places, activities with her. Do not stress or worry at this point.

    What PP said...it's pretty early to determine that. MH has ADHD and he is really worried our son will too.

    Seriously nothing to worry about for a long time to come.  Sounds like a normal baby to me.  

    Babies go through fussy periods for whatever reason.  Sometimes they just need more attention and holding than others and sometimes they're just fussy because it is what it is.  

    Also, you're in for a world of hurt if you make a habit out of comparing your kid to others.  I recommend you not do that.

    It is way too early to be worried about ADHD and at this point it is more likely her personality causing this behavior, not your parenting.   DD has always been like you described.  It's not always convenient but we've learned to work with it :)

    My ds11 was a baby like yours. Now at 11 he is a charming brilliant kid. I remember being worried about the adhd thing. He totally chilled out by second grade!
