If your DS isn't walking, is your pedi concerned about gross motor skills? I had a bummer of an appointment where DS only gained 10 ounces in 3 months (though the pedi wasn't concerned about that, he's still in the 35th percentile), and since he's just army crawling, she recommended getting a developmental assessment. I'm trying not to feel bad about this but I can't help it.
Re: Non walkers: gross motor skills
I totally agree. The prideful part of me thinks "Whatever, he's fine, he'll walk eventually" but the proactive part of me wants the assessment because it will be informative for his progress. Worst case scenario, there's an issue, and we caught it early. Best case scenario, nothing's wrong and we learn new ways to play and exercise with him.
Does your LO pull up to standing and cruise? Maybe your doc wants to see that.
I have heard that some healthy kids don't learn to walk until they are two.
