ER? Yay or nay?

Hello!

I'm 13w5d today and for the past four or five days I've felt a constant dull mostly pain on my lower right side. I don't think it's round ligament pain and I don't have an appendix. I have a history of small ovarian cysts and the pain feels nearly identical to previous cysts I have had. It is also localized to exactly one spot, which makes me think I may have a cyst right now. My OB checked my ovaries at my first appointment around 7 weeks and said they looked good, so if its a cyst, it's a fairly new development. No other symptoms, no spotting or bleeding or anything of that sort!

My next appointment isn't for another 13 days. Is this something to be concerned with or do you think it's minor enough to wait until my ultrasound in less than two weeks?

Any personal experiences are welcome, especially as this is a total speculation based on the pain and location currently compared with my previous ovarian cysts.

Re: ER? Yay or nay?

  • If its dull pain and no bleeding, I'd wait and maybe call next week when its not after hours.

  • Unless the pain became severe or if all of a sudden you got a fever and/or nausea/vomiting I'd wait it out. Bleeding would also make me go in.

  • Unless I was bleeding heavily or having pain so bad I thought I was going to pass out... I'd avoid the ER.

Is your OB open today? I'd call and let them know what you've been feeling and see if they want you in earlier than your next appointment.

This is what I would do. If you are super concerned call your OB, even if it's an after hours line.

  • I just had a similar situation, cramping and pain as a result of getting hit in my stomach yesterday. my doctor is out today and I had to go to ER. It took 4 hours and they have me an US and I was seen by the chief obgyn resident. They said ill prob be fine, but to be worried If I'm having really bad pain, back pain, bleeding of any sort and asked if I had a fever or was vomiting. I think you should wait it out and call your ob on Monday morning and tell them your situation. If it gets worse you can always go to ER before then. Hope you feel better soon XO
