  Her period was 3 days late and she wanted us to tell her if she was pregnant because HPTs don't work for her, she almost died the last time she tried to use one. She has it on authority from a doctor that HPTs don't work for 10% of women and she is one of them. Seriously, she almost DIED. And she's too scared to go to the doctor to get blood test.
  

  And either English was not her first language or the school system where she lives completely failed her because the post was riddled with spelling and grammatical errors and had basically no punctuation.

  That's right folks... 10% of women REQUIRE a blood test to show that they are pregnant. HPTs just don't work for them. who knew?! 1 in 10 of us.... it's true. sound, medical advice she was given.

  ETA: I am not saying that HPTs work for everyone, but come on...10%?!

  Actually I'm pretty sure she said TWO doctors confirmed that she's in the 10%. Poor girl.

  I don't really understand how we have so many 90%'ers here. Seems to me we would have heard about this problem by now.

  The grammar and spelling and what not made it hard to understand but I think what she was actually trying to explain was that because the hpt didn't work for her her ectopic pregnancy went undiagnosed for longer than it should have. That's how I understood it anyway.
