I'm just wondering how long after you had your LO before you could be active without getting tired quickly? I'm getting frustrated at being so easily tired, and really missing my daily walk.
Girlie, you're just over 1 week PP! I've had two c sections but I'd guess that even moms who delivered vaginally will tell you that at this point, everyone is exhausted and lots of people aren't able to do much physically. You had major surgery. Do NOT discount that. Give yourself time. Between what your body went through to grow that baby, now you've got to add recovering to caring for that baby round the clock. Survival mode is the name of the game. Your walks will come back, promise
I feel pretty good physically but I think it's the nursing that has me worn out! I feel like all I do is nap! I'm trying to stay hydrated and eat enough but it's hard! I definitely was able to take a couple mile walk after 3 weeks though.
Go out and walk to the end of the block today, tomorrow go a little further. But just go walk. That is how you will get it back. I was walking the halls at the hospital and went on my first walk at home 5 days pp. We go on a walk every morning and did 3 miles yesterday. I am 5 weeks pp. good luck it will come back.
I'm 3 weeks PP today and we just started going for family evening walks two nights ago. We took it slow (which both DH and the dog hated), and I felt crappy when we got home, but it's a start. You just had major surgery and your body needs time to recover, so take it easy. I felt ok after about a week, but I still have good days and bad days. For me, lifting/carrying things is the worst - doing laundry and carrying groceries is really tough. Just take it easy and try to relax - it sucks when all you want to do is be active, but your body needs time to heal.
Thanks ladies. I am taking it easy, because like everyone who's recovering, I'm tired. It's hard to not be able to go for walks when the weather is finally getting nice though. Good thing we had her at the beginning of summer so I'm not missing too much!
Yep just give yourself some time. All the new mommy duties add on to the exhaustion from the surgery.
With ny first csection, recovery was dificult for me and i kept tearing my incinsion so it took me months. So its important to properly care for yourself and take baby steps. This time around, i felt pretty good a few days PP but still had to take it easy or i would start hurting. I am 2 weeks pp and pretty much back to normal. Though i did too much a few days ago and felt horrible the next day.
I would recommend building up to your previous walks. Just walk around the house and slowly start increasing the length but dont push yourself!!!
