I've given DD sippies off and on for months. she'll play with them and bite on them to get the water out, but won't actually drink out of them. I've tried putting BM in there from time to time as well, but the same.
so how did you all get your kids to drink from them? do they just get the hang of it on their own? maybe a FTM question but I have no idea how to encourage her to use them. i'm happy to use bottles as long as she wants to, but i'm getting tired of the mid day feeds that way as she only holds her own bottle some of the time. she can do it, just chooses not to (would rather cuddle and let me help her)
Re: another sippy question
My daughter saw her cousin, whose 4 months older than, drinking one snatched it out her mouth and that was history.
Amir has done well with the soft tip he can bite and suck.
As far as for bottles, he ONLY holds a sippy. Won't even attempt to hold a bottle. He just waants to be cuddled.
Also, the more consistent we are giving him the cup, the better he does.
Chloe didn't like the taste of the water in them at first and would refuse them. She wouldn't take formula out of the sippy either. I let her try some ritz crackers on day though and then offered the water in the sippy and by that point she needed it so she drank some, lol. I have had to hold the sippy though and she barely drinks any. I took the top off and put a straw in it yesterday and offered her a bendy straw. She chewed on it and just accidentally sucked on it and after a minute or so she got a little water then sort of figured it out. She drank way more than she usually does out of the sippy.
I'm hoping she'll just like a sippy with a straw!
