transitioning from bassinet to crib

My son is 4 months old and we are trying to transfer him into the crib.  We just stopped swaddling him b/c he can roll over.  I tried putting him in the crib for a nap and he played around since it is quite a bit more room and kept rolling over.  He eventually started crying b/c he couldn't get back to his back.  I gave up and put him back in the bassinet.  Any advice?

    If he just started rolling one way it will likely be easier to wait till he can roll the other way.  Hopefully that's not too long from now.  That or just be patient enough to keep going in and rolling him back until he falls asleep!!

    Does your bassinet fit in the crib?  We never used a bassinet but pretty sure if we had I would put her to sleep in the bassinet in the crib for awhile so she got used to the surroundings from the comfort of her familiar bassinet.

    Try nighttime instead of nap time? My daughter will sleep 12 min on a flat surface rather then rnp but at night does 5 hours

    My baby also likes to roll around a lot in her crib, I think anytime they learn something new they want to do it all the time. I agree with above, night time might be easier than nap time.
