Success after IF

Success after repeat Chemical Pregnancies?Intro

Hi Everyone,

I have a son who is almost three and DH and I have been ttc for 13 months and have had three chemical pregnancies within 8 of those months.  I am seeing an RE who tested me for blood clotting problems and I dont have any.  Progestrone is also fine.

Does anyone have experience with CP's?  I asked for a full bloodwork panel and am waiting for them to call me back.  I am going thru the 3rd loss right now and feel like there is no hope.  I dont understand how I was successful so easily with DS #1 and #2 is not happening.

Any advice on testing, etc would be helpful.  Thank you

  • I am so sorry for your losses. I had two m/c before my successful pregnancy with DS. I know it feels so impossible, but you can have success after losses. Hoping you get some answers from the RLP. (((hugs)))

  • Unfortunately I do have experience with c/p and I first want to say that I think it's a terrible name for it- it's a miscarriage and it hurts just as much as any other loss IMHO. Even after our first cycle of IVF we still had a c/p. But we had success with IVF #2! The RE couldn't really give us an explanation for our c/ps, but said it was common and many people don't even pick up on it because it happens so early, they just assume their period is "late." GL and I hope you get some answers!

  • Thanks everyone, your replies really helped as I read them.  I was tested for all of the clotting disorders (I was told) and at first they said that I was boarderline for one of them (I cant remember which without looking at my paperwork) but when they re tested me, it was negative.  I'd like them to test again, I imagine a clotting disorder would be the reason for the CP's, but I guess anything is possible.

I've read that baby asprin can help, I am going to ask my doc about that.

    Happy 4th everyone.
