We started solids a week or so ago with baby rice cereal. The first three days she seemed to enjoy it and then everything changed. The next four days she just cried and refused to swallow anything. I tried mixing with breast milk, tried with water, tried with both, tried different temperatures and different spoons. In all instances (both when she ate it and when she didn't), I had nursed her within an hour prior. For now I gave up and stopped trying. Any suggestions? DD is six and a half months old. Also forgot to mention that I tried different consistencies as well with no luck.
Re: Refusing to eat cereal
You don't need to feed her cereal. You can start with a veggie pf your choice. We skipped cereal altogether.
I wouldn't force a food, especially since really it's not nutritionally necessary.
Ditto.

I did as well. There is no nutritional value with cereal, just empty calories.
Kinda this. One of my girls (I have twins) has always had some tummy issues. We started solids around 6 months and she was the one much more interested than her sister. Well, around 7 months or so, her troubles seemed to come right back. We stopped everything but the cereal & fruit she gets in the morning at DC and we have a much happier baby.
I can't say for sure that it was related to the food or not (she still doesn't have teeth, so we do know that wasn't it), but she certainly isn't missing it. We're also not as stressed out trying to fit dinner in when we only get a few hours with them in the evenings anyway.
