Doula?

Is anyone using a doula and if so, how far out do you need to book their services? Just wondering if I'm behind in the planning.

    I had a doula with DS LOVED her btw. How early you book really depends on how popular the doula is. With mine, we booked her by about now 26 weeks. She had many years of experience and was quite popular. She books up quickly. We also spoke with some newer doulas who could've booked us much closer to the due date. If you know who you want and your heart is set on her, I would book her now. But you're certainly not too late to start looking for someone.

    I am and I'm very excited about it! I booked her pretty early because we won't get to our next base until about 34 weeks. I didn't want to wait until then to try and interview/book anyone.

    I am using a doula and booked her last week at 25 weeks.

    I hired mine at 12 weeks, I was her final person at that point for October! She has a fabulous reputation, I am so excited to have her at the birth!

    I am also taking her birth works class, so my husband and I can build the relationship.

    I'm interviewing two that were recommended next week. I hoping one of them feels right and we'll be set. Our budget is tight and can only afford a Tier 2 doula, but I figure they still have done at least 10 more births then me!
