So mad at doctors office!

So on Friday I went in to the doctor for a UTI. I was told that my prescription would be sent over immediately, I'd get a note for my doctor, as well as my information would be handed to the ultrasound tech to schedule me as a follow up for some spotting. It's been a little short of a week and they were never sent. Turns out I was the last appointment of the day before the provider I saw went on vacation for the week. He left no record that he was going to prescribe it, so now they're forcing me to go back again and pay for another appointment to get the same thing all over again.

I eventually complained to management and told her it was unacceptable for this to happen. To be a doctor you must be a professional - and this guy on no hand acted professional in this. She assured me that they would get someone to prescribe the medicine and it should be available for pick up before the end of the day. After work I called and got response so I decided to go to my pharmacy just to check. Sure enough - they once again had no record of the doctor EVER sending me any medication.

I am SOOOOO unbelievably angry right now! It's been left untreated long enough my bladder is in serious pain! I really hope they're open tomorrow because I will be calling the corporate office to complain about not only the original doctor, nut also the supervisor who promised she fixed things that obviously didn't.

So freaking unprofessional! UGH!

Thank God I see my new doctor on Tuesday.
Hopefully he'll be a good one for once.

Sorry this is happening to you! Have you tried calling the on call physician? They should be able to just call in a prescription for you. Hope you get some relief soon! I know UTI's suck, especially in pregnancy! Good luck

Geez it's not like you are trying to get a prescription for morphine lol..though you probably feel like you need it with a UTI! That's ridiculous, hope you feel better soon

Unfortunately this happens A LOT. If it was me, I would call a different doctor and inform them of the situation, and say you're pregnant and have a UTI and you need a prescription. They can usually squeeze you in, or you can just pick up the Rx at the office. Be firm and say you need seen immediately, and that you're spotting as well. That will usually get you an emergency appointment.
If that for some reason fails, go to an urgent care, because you really need to get this taken care of. You don't want this to turn into a kidney infection.

ETA: don't wait until Tuesday to get this taken care of.

As PP said, it happens a lot. I work in a pharmacy and we see this all the time. Customer says" They were supposed to call in my script 3 hours ago" and we have nothing. I would try to call the on call dr or have the pharmacy try to call. I agree that it is ridiculous. Hope you get your meds soon.

Mistakes do happen. I work at a doctors office and there are times where the meds get charted and not called in. We are all humans. Get a hold of a nurse that works there and she should be quick about fixing it

Can you get into your regular physician instead of going through your OB's office? If I were in that much pain, I might try that instead!

I do understand everyone makes mistakes, it's the fact that he never even wrote record he was going to give it to me. He had left the office before I was even off his table for vacation. It was just entirely rude on his part. When I went to my doctors office for a second appointment they put me with a PA who was searching medicines to give me as well as my conditions on Google on his cell phone and it was safe to say I was uncomfortable enough that I walked out of the appointment.

I want a professional. I could have gone to Dr. Google all on my own.

I hope they're open today because I refuse to wait any longer for this medication. i need things taken care of now. Hence, the reason I went to the doctor. I may sound rude, however it just really sucks when you expect a level of professionalism and no one at your office carries it. Not even the manager who was supposedly going to fix things.

I can't help that I'm irritated. If anyone was in the situation that they had to fight for a week just to relieve some pain they would be too. And unfortunately, my voice is gone - so calling to ask what the heck is going on is very painful as well as very hard to do!

I don't think you sound rude at all. That is an OUTRAGEOUS story! I would have lost my mind on then already. Especially with how I've been feeling lately. Please tell me u got ur medicine!!
