C-sections

Glue

It has been 3 weeks since my c section and I think the incision looks pretty good! I wash it every day with antibacterial soap. What I think is gross is the glue residue that's still hanging around! I don't want to peel it because it kind of hurts! When does it all go away?

Re: Glue

  • Do you mean the left over stickys from the bandages? Those suck, the best thing for that is to slather your stomach with olive oil and rub the sticky areas until the glue balls up and then you can pick it off. Works every time, and works for hairy men who have bandage stickies left too!  Wink

  • I wish I knew how long it took for it to go away. My Fiance says I look dirty because of the left over sticky residue.

Try the olive oil! At the hospital I worked at we told all our post-op patients to try it. The oil wont hurt your incision at all.

I third the olive oil suggestion. I was actually gonna suggest vaseline, but olive oil will do it too.

This. I used vaseline. Took about 2 showers and some extra "picking" for it finally to get all the way off.

  • Baby Oil or Aquaphor and and exfoliator side of a loofa. Scrub gently and it will come off in the shower :)

  • Ask for adhesive remover wipes at your next apt, or just go to your doctors office and they can give you some. Olive oil probably works too, never tried it though.

  • Baby oil and vitamin E oil work great too :)
