I am flying from the US to Canada in a few weeks with my 15 month old daughter. My husband is meeting us there a week later.
Ive heard that I need a letter from my husband and notarized stating that he gives me permission to take her out of the country.
Has anyone done this before? What do I need in the letter or is there a form for this?
Thanks!
Re: Parent Permission Letter-Travelling From US to Canada
Some countries require notarized consent, although they don't always ask to see it. It's better to have it and not need it, so I would simply have a letter that says "I, [Husband's Name], father of [child's name] give consent to her mother, [your name], to travel to Canada on [x date] through [x date]. And have it dated, signed and notarized.
Also, make sure everyone, including your daughter, has a valid passport.
