If your LO has been given amoxicillin how much dosage did they prescribe? We were given a bottle that reads 400mg/5ml susp(take 1 teaspoonful 2x a day). Does that seem right?
Thanks so much!!

That seems like a lot to me. When V was on it, I'm pretty sure it was 1 tsp the first day, and then half a tsp for the next five days. Call the doctor and double check.
Thanks!
Yeah. This is what I felt too.
I am calling the nurse now.
He has had such terrible diarrhea for the last couple days. We stopped giving him it yesterday b/c his stomach is so torn up. This may be why he doesn't want table food lately.
I really hope he was not overdosed.
From now on I am double checking everything before I give it to him.

A probiotic will help him not get diarrhea from antibiotics. You can get it from the pharmacist or if your LO weighs over 20 lbs, I was told by our pedi that I could do one pack of the kids culterelle a day.
Hope your LO feels better soon!
Thanks ladies! I will get some tonight.

i got the powder kind that I just mixed in some applesauce or yogurt, and he took it no problem. Good luck!
I don't remember the ratio but we were giving 1tsp twice a day for 10 days for an ear infection. I didn't think twice about it because my pedi is stingy with antibiotics for babies, which I like, so I trusted his Rx.
This exactly, and Taylor has been on it twice. Both times it upset her stomach and she had acidic poops. I try to make sure her bum is covered in diaper rash cream beforehand so it acts as a barrier, since I know what's coming.
