What to serve with lasagna...other than the usual sides like green salad and garlic bread??

It's our Fourth of July dinner.
Our backyard is under construction still so no BBQ :

We are having my sister/niece and BIL over for dinner!

A very traditional italian side would be broccoli. You could do cold broccoli salad with lemon juice and olive oil & garlic

I would do a caprese and/or cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto. The lasagna is heavy so you will want something lite

Oh asparagus. Be careful if your prone to gas. I about died the last time I ate asparagus. It was so tasty, but I had the worst case of gas the next day.

Yes, broccoli immediately came to mind for me...maybe it's because it's one of the only vegetables my Italian husband will eat with anything The cold broccoli salad is a good idea since it's more "BBQ"ish
