NBR: What Can I add? FOOOOOD

So our "little" july 4th party has kind of exploded into a much larger crowd... so I want to double check my menu and suggest additional items. This is an outdoor shindig, and its going to be 90+ degrees out. We have adults and kids. I feel like I need a few more options.. but I dont know what,

  • Hot Dogs (cheese and regular)
  • Burgers
  • Baked Beans
  • Mixed Fruit
  • Veggie Tray
  • Assorted cheeses cubed up
  • Spinach Dip
  • 7 layer dip (salsa, beans, cheese, guacamoli)
  • bean salad
  • potato salad
  • vanilla/carmel layer cake
  • Italian ice (three flavors)

I second maybe a pasta salad or some grilled veggies. You have a great menu so far!

  • You have burgers... are they all beef? Maybe add some turkey or veggie burgers as a non-red meat option for the main dish.

  • We had a Canada Day street party bbq on Monday with about 25 adults and maybe 8-10 kids.....there were burgers, hot dogs, teriyaki chicken (on the bbq of course!), meatballs, pulled pork sandwiches (make your own), coleslaw, fruit trays, veggie trays, salads, 7-layer dips, chips and salsa, lasagna and loads more.  We were all too full for dessert but somebody made cupcakes which the kids loved!
  • Deviled eggs? I know you said it would be hot, but these never last very long when I make them.

  • I am feeling so jealous right now!! I wanted to do a BBQ for 4th of July but my parents are coming in town and they both are on super healthy diets (nothing processed, whole grains, no sugar, low fat, meat sparingly) due to recent health problems so we have to eat boring healthy food all weekend! I guess we could BBQ some fish.....not the same as a good burger! At least we can eat lots of fruit!!

Watermelon is all I'd add to your menu. But it looks super yummy as is! Have fun!

ETA: maybe watermelon is already in your mixed fruit!
