Bluepoint toasted lager is one of my favorite beers of all time. My SN used to be my name, and I didn't want that when I started posting more. Apparently I don't have enough outside interests, because all I could think of was beer

Spruce Grouse was chosen because I was/am Spruce Grouse on the CGN forum and I chose it then because DH was Ruffed Grouse so I wet with the theme. When I joind here I just kept with Spruce Grouse because I was already that elsewhere and wanted to keep it simple.

A spruce grouse is an upland game bird, like a wild chicken, it tastes like chicken would have before the flavour got bred out of it. I have so many fond memories of taking beautiful walks in the woods and spending hours there looking for grouse and just witnessing the awe and beauty of the forest and the life it holds and breathes into my soul.

i wondered about yours! I always read it as spruce goose, oops. I have never heard of one, but now I want to go for a hike somewhere far away from this city.

During my first year of college, my friends and I used to hang out in the commons after our 10am class and I'd get a bag of pretzels from the vending machine. They started calling me Pretzel. Eventually other people started referring to me, when they'd see me in other classes, as the pretzel chick. Like, "Hey, I know you. You're the pretzel chick." Apparently my food choices at 16 were infamous around campus.

When I worked at a bookstore I used her as an alias- we had a lot of creepers, so many of us kept our real names off our name badges. The best part was helping people who had read the book- they always cracked up mid-sentence when they caught the joke. My DH worked there as well (though we were not yet dating) and named himself after Miss Swanlake's lovelorn friend.

I signed up for the Knot with this name. When DH and I started dating we had to be quiet about it at first and it made a lot of people mad bc I had been dating his best friend. A lot of crap went down and it was like lines were drawn with friendships when it first came out. I journalled a lot and was worried it wasn't safe to write his name in the beginning so referred to him as Romeo. I always thought it was really romantic how we got together. His name starts with R and mine starts with a J, so it just seemed to work.

Nickname combo from childhood "chanene" that my DH shortened to Nene plus our pet name for each other "Cakies". One night he really wanted cake for some reason so I called him cakey babies instead of babycakes and it stuck, for a decade and counting. DD is our cupcake.
