12 Weeks Pregnant

Super low back pain

I want to say that the location is the back of my hips, but that sounds weird so I'll go with near the tailbone, close to the spine. It's not constant, but when it gets tweaked, man that hurts! I've heard of sciatica during pregnancy, but I'm only 12 weeks and no where near showing. Is there a safe way to deal with this without resorting to a chiropractor?

Re: Super low back pain

  • I have the same thing! I talked to my midwife about it and she said the research shows chiropractic adjustment of the hips is more effective than medication or physical therapy. She recommended a chiropractor in town that sees a lot of pregnant women, doesn't do Xrays if you're pregnant, and will focus on your hips/lower back if you ask. I don't think I could sit through the neck adjustment, but since I'm walking a bit hobbled already I might be considering giving this one a try!

  • Chiropractic care is the only thing that will work long term and still be safe for you and baby. Mine also especializes in pregnant women. Check to see if your insurance will cover it. Mine covers 20 visits. I tell you, my hips are very grateful!
