Sick Baby/missing work feeling bad to be missing work & not being with your baby at the same tim

My Princess got sick for the first time and I work for an insurance company in the office.  I am 100 % mommy and love it but at the same time felt bad leaving my coworkers behind  and burning up my vacation time.   Anyone else feel the struggle?

    My Monster got sick every week for the for 16 weeks of daycare.  Yes, it was hard being away from work. Yes it was hard watching her get sick over and over.  I didn't worry about vacation time because mine is somewhat flexible and I was able to WFH partly.  But I was worried about the perception of me missing so much work.  It got better with time.

    I am totally like this. It's so weird to call off when you feel fine yourself. I feel even more guilty if my kiddo feels better later that day and we go out to run an errand lol.

    I feel this all the time. I literally save most of my vacation for when LO gets sick.

    I had to miss work once because LO was so sick. I get paid commission so it really hurt to not get paid at all BUT he needed me and that came first. Luckily work is very understanding and I called the day before my shift so they had time to cover me.

    This.  And even when I use a vacation day, I still feel guilty for calling out at the last minute.

    Glad to hear Im not the only one. My work was understanding but my mind was running crazy with thoughts such as: I hate calling in, my poor baby, we still have 1/2 a year to go, what about true vacation time now will I have enough time ahh!!! . thankfully Princess is better and DH did switch with me one day but of course mommy ended up taking 2 days and 2 hrs off .
