Re: Weekly Accountability Check In!
Sorry this is late. I actually got to sleep in today!
I had minor surgery last week so it was kind of a bust. I didn't even weigh in this week. Starting over this week!
I hope everyone had a great week!

Ran about a mile this morning, didn't have time for more. Goals this week: 4 more runs with one day of race practice. We are going to the lake with family so I'll try to convince some of them to run with me.
Surgery? I hope you're doing well and recovering quickly! Even if you aren't mobile, keep up that healthful eating and you'll keep seeing results. Best of luck in your upcoming week!
I have been taking a day off for the last three weeks, prior to this past week, but I opted out of the day off this past week and did an extra cardio session yesterday morning. It didn't hurt my run this morning, so I am happy to do it again as long as my legs are staying strong! I kept my traditional lifting days last week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and I ran a little over 5 miles last Monday and Friday with an hour on the elliptical on Sunday morning. So last week was pretty solid!
I started out this morning later than I should have and the heat and humidity made the run a bit of a challenge, but I hit my 5 miles and did a nice cool down with our dog to enjoy a bit more sun before heading inside. I'll be 31 weeks on Thursday, so I'm feeling great about my mileage even though I know my splits are slower than ever!
We're headed to a cabin on Wednesday and will be gone through Sunday, so I'm hoping to get a workout in the morning before we leave. We'll bring our TRX trainer to hook up to a tree branch and I'll have my GPS watch so I can enjoy a couple runs while we're there. I have a feeling the kayaking and other family activities will keep me plenty busy while we're there!
Nice work on the activities ladies!!
I am gaining weight. Sigh. I had only gained 16lbs during pregnancy and lost that all within a few weeks. Now I am back up 16lbs or so.
I think the steady gain has been happening since starting the mini pill. My diet hasn't changed and I am breastfeeding. This is the first time I've taken any hormone birth control in over 10 years and my body isn't responding well.
For exercise I'm walking a few times a week, which I am going to step up to maybe 5 or 6 days. I got back to running for a week but my supply tanked so much that I really scaled back.
Good luck to everyone this week!
Hugs Lucky! Maybe it's hormones.
I had a cyst removed from my head. It's being tested but the doctor doesn't think it's anything.
Thanks!

Feel better iloveshanej!
I only got in 2 runs + 1 Pilates session last week. Plus some intense soccer practice with DS1 - he is getting fast! Those 15 minutes better count for something. Honestly, I have no excuse because while I feel horribly nauseated in the evening, in the mornings I'm actually feeling fine. Just can't get back into my rhythm yet. Hopefully more energy and motivation will come my way soon.
My motivation and energy was REALLY low in my first trimester. It definitely rebounded once I hit week 13 or 14. I kept going to the gym like it was an appointment or a meeting even though my energy was low, and I highly recommend it if you can manage staying active even when it's the last thing you want to do! Good luck!
I was terrible this week! I only worked out once. It was DHs birthday so we went out for dinner thy night and out to lunch with his folks over the weekend. They came for the weekend. They make their own wine so there was a lot of sampling. I am up almost four pounds in a week. I didn't think I was that terrible and not sure how that happens. I have been awesome food wise and I'm getting ready to work out right now.
Brief intro: I'm 37w3d today. Having a baby girl and am very excited.
I was able to run about 3miles/day 5 days a week until about week 30. Then had to stop because I'd get cramps. So now I have been walking on the highest incline on a treadmill for 40 minutes a day which is a little over 2 miles. I've been doing that almost daily but it just doesn't feel the same as running, and it certainly doesn't curb the weight gain like running either!
I'm trying to mitigate some of the weight gain since I've gained 33lbs and still have about 3 weeks to go!
This week I plan to do more or the same.
That has GOT to be waterweight. You end up eating much more sodium going out than staying in + the alcohol also retains water. So don't sweat it (or actually yes do sweat it - but literally
Changes in carbohydrate and sodium intake can cause big fluctuations in your retention of water which will register as weight on the scale and make you feel bigger/clothes fit tighter. That's not to say that any of the weight wasn't genuine gain, but generally, it would take a pretty extreme influx in intake to go up 4 pounds in a week. Since we can't change what's been done, keep focusing on each day to come. It sounds like you're on the right track with a workout today!
Staying active is great and you're in the home stretch!! Stay on track with your intake and keep doing those walks when you can, and you will be so happy you did once LO is here! Every step counts. Nice work!

Please let us know how you recover and when then doctor lets you know you're in the clear.
My weight gain must've been water weight; I'm down two pounds today.
That's awesome and thanks! I'm having my stitches removed today. The doctor said give it a week after that before doing my normal workout but I'm trying to stay as active as possible and eat good.
