STM that are breastfeeding...

DS2 is one week old today and I am already having major cabin fever. This baby is soo laid back and easy compared to DS1 at this age and I am feeling very cooped up in the house. We have left for walks almost everyday and trips to BRU but I need more ideas for this summer. I will go nuts if in this house much longer!!! My DH took DS1 to the Childrens Museum today, and I didnt go since it is raining and worried about where I will breastfeed. That is my biggest concern since I havent started to pump yet and dont feel comfy doing it in public. Any ideas or suggestions would help.

I was not comfortable BFing in public with DD and avoided it anytime that I could. However, I realized really quickly that with a 2 year old that can't be cooped up in the house I had to get comfortable this time around. I just make sure and use my cover and I've been wearing nursing tanks or an uncover mama to keep my stomach covered

Yeah I pretty much breast feed everywhere I go. I can nurse while walking around with LO in the carrier or moby. I already nursed in the grocery store and at the school where I picked up the big kid from summer camp. He eats non stop and I have an agenda...

I hear you on the cabin fever. And the weather here has been total crap here, so it's tough to get out!

When I don't want to nurse in public (usually because I simply can't find a comfortable place to do so), I usually resort to nursing in the car. Can you try going to some local parks where you can park nearby? And then you can take a play break and hang out in the car if you need to feed the baby?

We mostly stay home, but walks around the block or pool time outside has been great. When we go out, we have gone to drive-in movies, zoo, Grandma's, playdates with friends, grocery shopping (major hassle!!!), wedding shower, Children's community garden, library, church festival...

I BF in public with a cover, so the location doesn't usually deter me - managing 2 is a lot of work though...I'm still recovering from the grocery trip. haha

I EBF my DS until he was 20 mths old. I never fed him in public cause I was uncomfortable with it. I always waited till I had a room I could use . Heck I would even do it in the car while parked. With my new DD i plan on pumping after 4 weeks but until then I planned on doing the same thing as with DS. However at her first dr appointment she would not wait until we were back in the doctor room so I end up having to use a blanket and bf in the waiting room. It was weird but suprising how much I ended up not caring about others. Lol. So i jusy bought a nursing cover. With two kids, i think its just something one has to get use to unless they start pumpig eventually. It helps since my DS is two years old now as well.

I know what you mean about cabin fever...DS1 is 2 and is very active. I'm still not very comfortable with BF DS2 in public so the first few weeks I was avoiding leaving the house. Just this past weekend I finally went with DS and DH to a Waterpolo game. When DS2 got hungry I just BF him in the car and it went really well! I am hoping I will become more comfortable with feeding DS2 in public as he gets a little bit older. Right now it is a bit of a struggle to get him to latch sometimes because my breasts are so big...it's too hard to do it when wearing a breastfeeding cover. Hopefully it gets easier!

I've also done the car a few times, just because DS is contained in his car seat and not running around.

After bfing dd1 for two years, and always hiding it, this time I just don't care. I go where I want when I want, and bf everywhere. I'm just over trying to hide it for other people. If you don't like it don't look.
