on thursday night little girl threw up twice....but wasn't phased by it or anything....and then on friday she went by my sister's as usual...but threw up again there, and had one heck of an assplosion
so i called the daycare, and it turns out that a toddler was sent home on thursday- he had thrown up in the car on the way there, and an infant didn't come in on friday...and then dh said that when he dropped her off thursday, he heard a dad complaining about throw up- so i'm assuming this was the kid who was sent home...i'm sorry, but if your kid throws up in your car on the way to daycare, why continue on and leave him there?
on saturday we changed at least 20 diapers of very loose stool...then my poor nephew had diarrhea and my niece threw up twice (they were home all day since school is out, so they were with dd), then sunday my dad threw up, then yesterday i threw up at (omg throwing up is gross, but in a public restroom! ugh) and then last night my brother in law threw up....their neighbors take their daughter to the same daycare, and she got this bug too, but was in the hospital all weekend...
we didn't take her in yesterday, she stayed with my mom and only had 2 poops...this am she had a loose one, but had more consistency than they had been having...so we sent her in...they called saying she had 3 loose bms and that's the limit before having to go home...granted the 3rd one was like, 4 hours after the 1st and 2nd....so they said we could leave her there, but dh went to get her
thing is, she's still happy and smiley and like nothing is going on...her temp is a steady 98.6 and she's not dehydrated at all...still peeing and her eyes are watery and whatnot....this is one nasty stomach virus....so i guess we'll keep her home tomorrow...dc is closed thursday and i'm off friday anyway plus she has her regular 6 month check up friday anyway.....i wonder if i should reschedule for tomorrow...but really, what can you do for this sort of thing besides let it run its course, right? if she was uncomfy or fussy or had a fever or dehydrated i'd run not walk to the dr..... i know rice is binding, but it stopped her up for a good week last time, so i don't want to do that again....the daycare said something about diluting the formula bc maybe the formula is hard to digest right now?
i thought maybe it's teething as well....but her teacher at the dc said she thinks that the poops smell different...which is interesting...i mean, she has more experience with this sort of thing than i do....i don't know...poor kid...but she is acting normal...ugh i just wish it would go away! and i hope my mom sister and dh don't get affected...so far they've been good...
Re: stupid stomach bug!
Because some people are selfish a-holes.
I'd normally say as long as she's not dehydrated and seems happy enough, I'd just wait it out. It's kind of concerning that the little girl had to go to the hospital because of it though. Do you know why? Dehydration?
i'm pretty sure it was due to dehydration...i think my sister said they kept her an extra day just to be safe...i saw the little girl on friday when i dropped dd off at my sister's..didn't think twice about why she wasn't at dc...but she looked fine...granted i don't see her that often....but you best believe i'm keeping a close eye on sophia to make sure she's ok as far as that goes....
the daycare didn't seem too concerned about us rushing to pick her up or anything....and the one teacher kept apologizing to dh when he picked her up....however, i think this 3 loose bm policy is new...they've never called to warn me about her 2 loose bms before....ohwell
