We are team blue! & velamentous cord ?

We found out today that we are having two boys today!  I had a feeling all along that we would be adding two more boys to this family =)  We are very excited!  We found out that one of the boys has a velamentous cord insertion within 1 cm of the planceta edge.  Thankfully it is not close to the cervix and there is no previa at this time.  Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't see the doctor until Thursday and I will ask her then what to expect, if anything.

No experience with the cord issue, but wanted to say welcome to team blue! I'm having 2 boys as well. It will make 4 boys in my house. LOL.

  • Congrats on team blue!  One of my boys had a marginal cord insertion.  He had blood flow and growth issues.  Are your twins mono/di?

  • Yes, I have this too. VCI but only 1 little boy at 30 weeks along. Hoping you found more info there is quite a bit out there. I was hoping for a VBAC with my 2nd baby until this was discovered, he is also breech. From what I have seen it is a 1.1% chance with one baby and closer to 8-9% when you have twins. I have also read it is more common with IVF. I am also trying to remain calm but I cant help but find myself looking more and more into this issue. Luckily my guy is pretty busy in there so that is reassuring at this point. Hoping everything went well for you!
