Where in Western Michicigan are you? We used to go to New Buffalo and Union Pier for the day sometimes. H's whole family loves going there, of course, as they're all FIPs.

    We live in Holland!  It's a favorite cottage or day trip place for a lot of Chicago people, too.

    One of my earliest memories is going to the tulip festival. I got the chicken pox while we were there. I like Holland because it's a real town.

    Hey, I once had the chicken pox at Tulip Time, too!  4th grade.

    I agree about Holland - it's a real town.  It can be touristy, but it's also a year-round home for a very diverse mix of people.
