Short story: wake a sleeping sick baby to feed?
Detailed version: I took LO to the doctor today because his daycare called around 2 and said he has been throwing up everything he ate (not spitting up, but projectile/through his nose) and extra tired. We get to the doctor and he's acting completely fine, smiling and 'talking' to the doctor, and even ate a bottle in the waiting room and kept it down. No fever, no signs of anything other than a 'tummy bug' as the doctor called it. SHe said try some pediallyte mixed with formula every 15 minutes or so (as much as he would tolerate) for a few hours and once he went 2-3 hours without vomitting he was fine. He slept from abut 4:30-5:30 (pretty typical) and I tried to give him a bottle and the second he opened his mouth he threw up. He went to sleep around 6pm and has been asleep ever since.
He typically takes a 30 minute to an hour long nap between 6-9 and then goes to bed at 9. Do I wake him to give him pedialyte or just let him sleep it off?
SIde note- He has no signs of dehydration at this time.
Re: Wake a (maybe) sick baby?
I'd probably let him sleep, i know for me its the fastest way to feel better. Good Luck
