Hi there I'm Gem and I am 6 weeks pregnant. I am a larger woman and need to lose weight but not sure how to when expecting as I'm concerned incase I MC. This is my first baby so really worried. What can I do? X
First, I can't ignore the title. It's 'losing' and not 'loosing'.
Second, if you make healthful food choices and you are mindful of your daily intake, you can have a healthy pregnancy. You don't need to go on a diet during pregnancy, but it is something you can address with your OB when you go for your first appointment. You can ask for additional information regarding appropriate nutrition and ask them to keep a close eye on your weight as you move through the pregnancy (they'll typically do this anyway). Congratulations on the first little one and best of luck on your journey!
Many women will lose in the first trimester by changing over to an intentionally healthy diet. I made myself a checklist of all the nutrients we're supposed to be consuming each day which helps me plan my meals and snacks. Don't "diet", but you can definitely be smart about what you do eat. Lots of veggies complex carbs only!
