LIVID about fireworks?

I am so tempted to send in an acquaintance's fb status to STFU Parents right now.  She is LIVID about the fireworks, they are a waste of money, they are ignorant....because her kid woke up.  I told her to turn on some white noise.  There are fireworks here every Sunday and friday all summer, and this week they will be every day.  Figure out how to deal.

DS will probably wake up now to punish me.

Re: LIVID about fireworks?

  • Haha- that seems to be a bit much on her part. Maybe when her kids are a little older she will understand why they are so much fun.

  • She's just so princessy and entitled about everything.  Clearly our city's planning committee should cater to your child's schedule and not worry about the millions of tourists that come through every summer.

    Ignorant fireworks.

  • They are just such a constant around here.  It's not just the fourth, it is April through September, every summer, forever and ever.  Every fri and sun.  10 pm.

  • I used to be all for fireworks every night the whole week of the fourth. Now that I have a baby trying to sleep... I'm not a fan anymore. Lol I turned her white noise up but every time a firework goes off at my neighbors house which is right next to DD's room, I want to freak out on them. I cringe every time one goes off. I wouldn't say livid but not happy.

  • It's just her attitude.  I get it, I have cringed a couple of times too, waiting to hear the crying.  She just comes off a so entitled all the time, especially the "waste of money" comment.  We don't have a lot of nice things in the city, and I get enraged when people poo poo over the few nice things we do have.

She needs to just get used to it. If this is a normal thing for your area, I'm sure baby will be used to it in no time.

Also... If its a thing, that you know happens, forever and ever and ever.... You're kinda stuck, you know? We researched the area we are moving into. They have a huuuuuge bonfire behind our new house once a year at Halloween. Cool! We can deal with that. If it were every weekend an indeterminate amount of time.... I may question my coping skills.

the bonfire sounds pretty cool.  You could have a pre party at your new house every year.

  • Where my sister lives, she's so close to WDW that the fireworks every night are LOUD. 365 days a year. Every once in a while it wakes her kids. When there's no clouds it's insanely loud.

For holidays WDW does perimeter fireworks. 360 degrees around Magic Kingdom. You can hear them almost 30 miles away.

  • Tula: wdw wow never thought of that.

Tonight is Canada day fireworks and we are close to downtown, we just deal and k days, ten days of fire works every year.

Op: My grand parent live right by the stadium and years ago, they used to get so mad as the fireworks would burn thru their shingles. This was in the 90's. that I can see complaining about but she doesn't own the free space air! And as pp said do your research on the area before u buy

It's Monday and my moron neighbors woke up both kids with their fireworks. I think it's effing rude in a residential neighborhood on a week night. To say nothing of the fact that they are illegal here. On the actual holiday? I'll deal. Monday night for no reason? F'uck off, I'll cut you. I have white noise going btw

This is how I feel. On or around the holiday I can handle them. Days before? COME ON.

I've never gotten into fireworks, I don't hate them - but I think they are highly overrated.
