*Update* Increased spotting and battling stomach bug

Update: After having some more spotting last night and mild to moderate cramping this morning, I called my midwife and was finally able to have my first u/s. Baby looked great with a strong heartbeat and was measuring about two days ahead. They could not find any bleeding or cause for bleeding. Right now, I am feeling very thankful and blessed. Thank you again everyone for your T&Ps!

TMI Warning:

For the past 48 hours I have been dealing with off and on diarrhea and bad gas cramps. My spotting also significantly increased yesterday, but thankfully it is still brown.  I put a call into my midwife and she said to rest and drink plenty of fluids to try and rehydrate. She also mentioned that I might be becoming lactose intolerant.

I cannot help but be a little worried. I have not had an ultrasound as of yet and would just like the confirmation that everything is okay in there.

Thanks for listening to this seemingly pointless post!

  • Sorry that you don't feel well.

    When is your first ultrasound?

    Thank you!

The UK's healthcare system is slightly different than the US. My first scan will be sometime between week 11-14, but I am still waiting on the call for an appointment. Because this pregnancy is not considered high risk, they combine the NT scan and dating scan here.

I know some women go a lot longer for their first scan and I am trying to be patient-just a little hard at times. When I had DD in California they did a scan at 8 1/2 weeks. I just need to get used to the fact they do things a little differently here!

  • I also have been battling diarrhea and bad gas on and off but mostly on for 2 weeks, I have slowly been cutting different things out to see what might be causing it. I have been having light pink spotting since thursday mostly when I wipe, but every once in awhile enough to spot on a panty liner, my doctor did not know what it was from but mentioned my bowel movements, because they are so often, could be irritating my cervix. I hope you get to feeling better, I know this is the most nervous I have been in my life and wish that you were not going through such a similar situation ! sorry for the long reply!

Thank you! I hope your stomach issues and spotting gets better soon too! My midwife called today to see how I was doing and we collectively decided to cut out diary to see if that helps.
