DS turned 6 months today!
He had his 6 month checkup today too. I'm tempting fate a little having his shots the same day as his half birthday party, but he's always done well in the past so I'm crossing my fingers.
He went down in his percentiles:
Height: 27inches (90% at 4 months, now 75%)
Weight: 16lbs 8ozs (50% at 4 months, now 25%)
The pedi says he's long and lean and isn't at all concerned about his growth. He DID grow almost 2 pounds in 2 months! I switched pedis this time around because this one is much closer to home, came recommended by a friend, and DH has not been able to go to our previous pedi's office since the chemical burn incident at the 2 month check up. I really like our new pedi and the office so I'm happy with the switch.
DS cried just a little and has been out like a light since we got home. He's always handled his shots like a champ, and I hope he continues to feel ok today/tonight. We're all set until the 9 month appointment and no shots at that one!! Our pedi said that he will be furniture cruising and possibly even walking by then!! So crazy!
The day isn't over yet! The ILs are coming over for dinner because they live in town. I'm baking a half birthday cake for the adults to eat... and for cute half birthday photo ops of course. For DS, I'm making a 'cake' by mushing, flattening, and pan frying banana and carrot pancakes (no flour or anything, just a disc of fruit/veg). I'm going to stack them on top of each other to create a 'cake'. Found the idea on Pintrest. We have to wait until DH gets home later tonight for all that, so I'll update later.
I can't believe how far along all our LOs are getting!

Glad he did well with shots and hope you guys enjoy the half birthday cake!
Thank you everyone!
The cake did not turn out as nice as I pictured in my head. I ended up using a piece of paper to write 'Happy Half Birthday' because I can't write with icing to save my life, lol. It also was too high and has (since getting a couple pictures of it) fallen over! LOL!
DS did great after his shots until about 6:30pm... an hour before dinner. I gave him some Tylenol and rocked him for 20 minutes until he passed out. He woke up about 10 minutes after DH got home and the ILs came over and was in an ok mood so we attempted pictures with his half cake. That SERIOUS frown is right before a SERIOUS meltdown. Another 10 minutes of rocking and he was out. He napped through us eating dinner and I thought that that was it for tonight, but he woke up his normal super happy self babbling and wanting to play so I got out his banana cake. Pan frying was a disaster so I just baked mushed banana in a tiny cake tin.... looks weird but it works.... he liked it. He's on the floor right now playing with his half birthday present... a toy remote control that sings about colors and numbers. He loves it!
I know he's up too late (almost 10pm now) but I think the extra sleep after the shots and all the excitement of the day threw him off, I'm going to attempt to get him into bed now. All in all it's been a good day today! Goodnight Bump!
