For the English Major Bumpies

Hey guys.  A friend of mine posted this on FB today.  It is a calendar of literary events for each day of the year.

Of course, the first thing I did was go looking for LO's due date--Theodore Dreiser is born, 1871.  Yikes.  Author of Sister Carrie, the beautiful but depressing look at society in the modern industrial age.  Pretty heavy stuff.

But anyone due on the 21st has Christopher Robin's birthday!  Awww.

  • Hey fellow English major! Thanks for posting - very cool, except my due date is the 31st - "Hiroshima published in The New Yorker." Talk about heavy stuff!

  • Thanks for posting! I'm going to share this with my coworkers in the English Department; they're going to love this!
  • Thank you from an English teacher.  Ian Fleming died on my due date...but, overall it's a great calendar!  :-)
  • Hey fellow English major bumpie!! 18th Lolita is published.....I'm having a little girl....not good
  • My EDD is the 21st, woot! Of course the chances of LO actually being born on that day are slim...
  • Lurking from June, but I majored in English and think this is awesome. Thanks! ... I do know that I share my birthday with F. Scott Fitzgerald.

We're due the same day! (Not that the EDD really means much, but...) At least if I go well past my due date there are some fun date facts (though I wonder if that will be consolation enough if I'm a week or more past!). I wouldn't mind our baby sharing a birthday with Lois Lane or Christopher Robin.
