Mickey Mouse Birthday - dressing up like Minnie?

Next weekend is DS's 3rd b-day and it is Mickey Mouse theme.  I found a really cute red dress with white polka dots on Modcloth that looks similar to Minnie's.  I was thinking about possibly wearing Minnie Mouse ears and yellow shoes. 

My question is - if you went to a party and saw the mom dressed like this, what would you think?  Is this a cute idea?  Or would you think it was dumb?

    Thanks for being honest. 

    I decided not to do it after all.  It was going to end up being pretty expensive and I thought maybe a little over the top.

    No, not at all.  I knew it was ify which is why I posted the question.  I try to not let The Bump hurt my feelings.

    I think it would depend on who was going to be there as well as your personality like if it's mostly family and your family is fun and silly then go for it... If it's a bunch of kids then maybe it would be a good idea too. If it's a bunch of kids and their parents it may be a little weird.. Maybe a Minnie mouse shirt or something?

    For DS's 3rd bday, which was Minnie (yep, he prefers the girl mouse), I ordered mouse ear headbands from etsy -- half with bows, half without. So a lot of the grown-ups wore these too. It was cute, without being a whole costume.

    My only question is what would your DS think? Because that is totally something I would do if my son would love it. I saw that you had decided not to because of the expense but the idea was cute.  Of course, I have convinced my XH to show up to our son's 3rd bday (Curious George) dressed in a Man in the Yellow Hat costume (just for the cake part, I swear) so I may be crazy.

    I would totally do it... and if people laughed I would laugh with them! Life is too short to worry about what others think especially when you have such a cute and fun idea.
