Roley Poley

Jackson is officially a roller from front to back and back to front all the time. Poor little guy can't figure out how to sleep on his belly and gets so frustrated and cries. He rolls back over to his back and then lays on his side. (favorite sleeping position right now) but then continues to roll to his belly and gets frustrated. He hasn't figured out how to keep his head to the side. He was so tired tonight but kept tossing and turning (Literally) I ended up having to rock him to sleep which we haven't done in over a month and a half. Did you Lo's do this? Did they figure it out? poor guy was so tired but fighting everything.

DS has been a belly sleeper since the day he figured out how to roll over. On day I put him in his crib and he rolled right to his belly. I kind of freaked put and rolled him back, but back to his belly he went. That was also the day that he took his first ever 2 hour nap. Belly sleeping has been a sleeping wonder in our house. DS mostly turn his head to the side, but sometimes face plants right into the mattress. I am slowly getting more comfortable with this.

I hope Jackson figures it out soon. I'm sure he will!

Thank you. I'm really hoping he does. Poor guy is waking up because of it right now. I'm sure he just needs to figure out how to get comfy since it's definitely something new. It makes me a little nervous but I know he can move easily back and forth and will move if necessary

My DS does this move a LOT, too, and it used to freak me the heck out!! He didn't start to realize he could "roll" in his crib until like 10 months.. but once he figured it out, he almost always is on his belly.  Lots of nights he sleeps with his knees tucked under him, his butt high in the air and his face smashed right up into the mattress!  When he first started doing this, I'd go in and turn his head.. but, eventually I realized he knows what he's doing and is okay, so now I just leave him..

I hope Jackson gets the hang of it soon.. when things are so new, it can be such a confusing time!! When DS first started being able to get to a sitting position on his own, he would constantly wake in his sleep, sit up, and then throw himself back down.. it's like he wants to make sure he doesn't forget how to do it overnight!! They can be so quirky sometimes :)

I think we're like a day away from this. M can and does flip to her belly any chance she gets and while she can turn back over we've seen it a couple of time she doesn't. Last night bedtime was rough as she was just tossing around in there. She was so tired. Eventually she ended up on her tummy, face down. She was obviously comfy but it freaked me out so I waited until she was more settled and then turned her head. She has great neck strength so I know she could lift her head up if she needs too but it freaked me out. Something tells me bedtime is going to be rough for a few days.

Jackson has great neck support to and he definitely face plants face first into the mattress. I definitely move his head. Although I'm sure he would move could he not breathe but it freaks me out. Yet I'm so proud of his accomplishments.
