fevers

I feel like my little guy is sick all the time.  He spiked a fever yesterday afternoon and still has one this morning.  Checked on him throughout the night and it got as high as 104.1 so we gave him motrin.  This brought it down to about 101-102.  He was just treated for a double ear infection and finished his antibiotic exactly 1 week ago.  It seems he has a fever atleast twice a month that gets in the 103-104 ranges and last atleast a couple of days.  We bring him in and are told that it is viral every time.  I feel like this isn't normal to be having viral infections and fevers every couple of weeks. It has been going on since January...and only 2 of them have been related to ear infections.  I have a call in to his doctor now and waiting to hear back.  Just wondering if anyone else has had a kiddo who always seems to be sick/feverish?

Re: fevers

  • I know fever viruses are common, but it seems odd to me that they aren't more concerned about such high fevers so often.  My LO had one unexplained fever and they did blood work and a urinalysis before declaring it was viral.  It went away within 24 hours.  Have you considered seeing someone else just for peace of mind?
