What deodorant or soap brand is safe?

Does anyone know what deodorants and soap are safe brands?

If you're talking about body soap... they are all safe... if not, they'll have it on the label. Same with deodorant.

If you're trying to go "all natural" then obviously you'll want to look at natural brand lines...

I've never heard of certain soaps and deodorants being "unsafe". If you are looking to go natural you could try Tom's of Maine.

For a natural deodorant, I LOVE Aubrey Organics E plus High C roll on. It does require a second application, but I've used it for years and love it. Toms of Maine gives me (and many other people) a terrible rash. The liquid roll on crystal is okay, but can sting on freshly shaved pits, the rock version works better, but also stings shaved pits (but only for a min). Kiss my face deos are okay, but cost too much for how little they work. Desert essence organics suck.

I know I'm leaving some common ones out, but just ask me- I havent used conventional deo for 10years.

For soap I prefer Dr Bronners, any of them. I currently am using Lavender, Peppermint, and Tea Tree. I prefer the liquid.

I get really hot easily and sweat A LOT. For the last few years I but the clinical strength and switch between Secret, Suave and Dove clinical strength. I would be VERY smelly without good deodorant. Are you all suggesting I should use something else?

I've never read about not using conventional deodorant during pregnancy. For me it is just a personal prefrence- I feel that its important for your body to be able to sweat out the yuckies. I also have concerns about cancer and alzheimers. But like I said, for me its completely a personal choice.

I haven't ordered mine yet, but my friends all swear by the deodorant sold at www.beeyoutiful.com they love it and said its one of the first natural deodorants to work for them. I have a few more sticks in my cupboard before I try it, but it's the next thing on my list to buy.

I bought Deodomom. You an get it off Amazon. It only has two ingredients :magnesium hydroxide and water. For soap, I bought the belli brand body wash. For face wash, I'm trying out a loccitane milk one.
You can research products on the ewg. Org cosmetic search data base Google that. I'm on a mobile so can't put a link.

I agree with all of this (though Tom's works great for my husband and I!).

I would suggest using anything plant based when it comes to cleaning/cleansing - soap, deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. While babies are born everyday healthy and happy from mommas who use conventional products, I encourage everyone to remove unnecessary chemicals from their daily routine. In the end, it's safer for everyone involved. And really, it's not as hard to make the switch as you might think! Pregnant or not, we only get one shot in this body - might as well treat it well!
