Harper: love and I know it is well-liked, but does it seem like a name that is super trendy in a way that will sound out-of-date later? Like permanent shoulder pads?
Sophie: My initial love and my husband's, but would it translate well into an adult's name? And, no, I don't like Sophia.
TYIA!
Re: Opinions, please?
Harper: If I had to guess, I'd say yes. But who knows, it could remain popular for some time.
Sophie: As this is the French version of Sophia and definitely is a name unto itself, I have no problem seeing it as an adult name.
I really dislike Harper, and think it will sound dated in about 10-15 years. However, Sophie I think is fine and will age well.
this
Not really a fan, and her dad's name is Joe... aka Joseph lol

Shoulder pads are a perfect way of describing names like Harper lol!
Sophie is just fine on it's own.

Reading is overrated
That was my thought exactly. I have decided to ax Harper off the list.

I'm torn on Harper. On the one hand it does sound a bit trendy, and as such has the potential to be dated in a few years. But on the other, thinking of Harper Lee, it's a bit of a classic name. Either way, it's a name an adult woman can have with no trouble.
I prefer Sophie to Sophia and know several adult women named Sophie, though all first generation French immigrants or French-Canadian.
I prefer Sophie. I think it ages fine.
I don't care for Harper.
To Kill A Mockingbird is one of my favorite books, so I relate Harper back to Harper Lee.
I think Sophie stands alone as well, doesn't seem like a permanent little girl to me.
