Oh the heat

I'm definitely not one to complain about the heat, I love summer. But ugh. I just spent 3 hours at our town's 4th of July fair and it was miserable. My fingers swelled up, I was sweating in places I didn't realize I could sweat, and felt gross. I didn'twant to ruin anyone else's good time, so I just sucked it up. Finally my best friend told me to go home. I appreciate my a/c so much right now as I prop my feet up and down some water.

I think you're nuts for spending that much time outside today! It was hot here! I guess some people like the heat, but I'm right there with you. I'm glad your friend noticed that you needed to go home and said something.

Drink lots of water!

My car read 108 today, and the humidity is in the 40% range. Sad thing is, it's only going to get worse down here. I never leave the house without a bottle of cold water.

So would I, honestly it was probably only 90 (hot but not bad as it could be), it was the humidity that got me.

The only time I'm spending outside these days is either in the pool, or going from air conditioned car to air conditioned building.

It was pushing 120 here today, we are in the desert so pretty sure there was no humidity at all though. I couldn't tell you for sure because I sure as hell didn't leave the house! Drink some water and take it easy tomorrow so you don't end up crazy dehydrated!

Another Texan here, waaay down South. I literally plan my daily activities around the heat. Early morning or after sunset for errands and things inside the house during the crazy heat. It was 102 today and they predict 104 tomorrow with high humidity. I keep asking myself, why do I live here? My feet start to swell instantly walking to and from my car.

October-May is why we live in the inferno during the summer! I hate the cold!

We dont have AC at home... all casement windows and Usually a fan is enough, but some days this summer have me tegretting not shelling out for the ductless system when we were renovating... Does make AC at work a nice perk! I'm in the northeast though, so we really only get a few months of hot and humid weather.

so instead, My motto this summer is "just keep swimming swimming swimming". It really helps with my core temp, the swelling, and my mood in general. My neighbors gave me an open offer to use their pool whenever, and we have a lake about 5 minutes away I dunk myself in whenever I start to get miserable [amd don't want to intrude on the neighbors]. I'm also about to get a kiddie pool for at home. I used to do this when we were in Brooklyn the 12 hard plastic ones are actually just the perfect size to stretch out with head and feet supported by the sides. There's always a cool bath or shower too.

I can't believe you spent that much time outside! I live in Omaha and while the heat isn't nearly as bad as the south it's really the humidity that gets me. I skipped church this morning because there is no AC. I feel slightly bad because it's only supposed to be in the 80s but with the humidity and zero air movement I knew I couldn't handle it today.

Oh, I won't be doing that anymore. A/c is my friend for the rest of the summer.

I hear you! This is my first summer in Vegas and I am dying! I can't believe it can be so HOT!
