in Pregnant after a Loss

Okay, I wasn't sure where to post this, but hopefully you guys can help.

 

On the 20th I had a D&C (the baby stopped growing at 10 1/2 wks), the 27th I saw my doctor and he said everything looked fine and I could have sex again.

Since that was my 5th failed pregnancy, the sent the tissue in for genetic testing that we should get results for at the end of July.

Meanwhile, I had unprotected sex last night because we simply forgot that we needed to start using condoms again. 

Anyone know, or have experience with, the likelihood of  getting pregnant after a D&C before having a normal cycle?

    I don't really have any experience, but the lining of your uterus is really thin post DC to even be able to support a pregnancy and 8 days post DC your hormones most likely haven't regulated to the point where you are even ovulating yet. I didn't ovulate until 53 days after mine, I had a later loss though. Good luck and I am very sorry for your loss.

    The chances are probably pretty low that you ovulated 8 days post D&C and that your lining was thick enough to allow implantation if you did. However, you may want to wait a few weeks before having sex, with or without condoms, because you are really susceptible to infection right now. You may want to talk to your doctor to see what he/she recommends, though.

    Sorry for your loss. It's a terrible thing to have to go through.

    For me it takes at least 3 cycles for me to ovulate after a d&c. But that's just me, it could be different for everyone.

    I think it's unlikely that you've already ovulated.  I agree with the PP--check with your doctor.  I am not sure that you are even supposed to have sex that close to your procedure as you are vulnerable to infections.  I am so sorry for your loss and everything you are going through.
