Hey all, been a month or two since I posted, long hiatus due to computer issues and hate mobile. But since I'm hospital bed bound right now figure why not!
Just wanted to put this out there for other FTM who are not full term yet. So you can maybe learn from me!
I was having BH for a couple days, pretty frequent and not painful but very uncomfortable. Walking generally made them go away so I knew that was all it was. Well starting on Thurs morning they were still going but starting to maintain a pattern of like every 5 min. Continued all day/night and I called L and D just to see if it was normal since walking and resting didn't make these ones go away and they were consistent. They said to try and rest more, drink more water, but if they weren't gone by fri morn to call again.
So Friday I went to work, still having them but very unsure if I was being dramatic or overly worried or if something was going on. My coworkers pressured me to call L and D again. I did and they said you may as well come in to get checked. So I left work..came in..
OB looked at the monitors and said ya they are prob BH but let's check your cervix. Well aren't I 3cm dilated and 100 effaced already!! I'm 33 weeks. So they said well you are not going anywhere.
Progressed fri night to the point they thought he may be coming, 5cm and contractions getting stronger and closer. But since then..they've kind of stopped. Been very sporadic and not very painful. Somehow I've made it to 6cm now tho.
They're not rushing it or breaking my water or anything, being 33 weeks every extra day he is in there cooking is good! So I'm just here until he comes out, whenever that may be!!
They've assured me at 33 weeks he should be ok when he arrives, will just need to be in NICU for a while.
So to other FTM, if you're having BH and you're unsure..go in and get checked! I almost left for the cottage for the wknd thinking they'd just go away and I was fine!! Just a little voice maybe a coworkers nagging made come in here and thank goodness!!
Will keep you guys posted!!
Sorry for the book lol!
Re: L and D from BH
Hey, I remember you!
I hope that your little one stays cooking as long as possible. Thank goodness your nagging coworkers urged you to go in and get checked. As a FTM, you don't know what is normal and you never want to overreact, but I guess you have to just trust those maternal instincts!
So have your contractions been very painful, or do they just feel like a more intense BH? I can't believe you're at a 6 already. Update when you can and good luck!
Thanks and keep that little one cooking
I hope LO stays snuggled inside just a bit longer!! Keep us updated!
That's just it, I thought I was bein a drama queen over some minor BH and didn't want to be a pain to the hospital..not something they care about!! Lol
Fri night the contractions were getting more painful and really had to breathe thru a few of them..but since then they're back to just feeling like strong BH...so to be 6cm dilated and fully effaced with this minor amount of pain I'm totally ok with! Lol..I'm sure it will be much worse once it really starts going again tho!
My dd was born at 35 weeks due to pre e but had stopped growing at 33 weeks. She is now a healthy almost 2 year old and you would never know she was a preemie. She spent a week in the nicu and was 3 lbs 11 oz
Thank you for the positive story :
Yes they gave me the steroid so hoping that helps! At my last ultrasound nearly 2 weeks ago they said he was measuring on the big size and over 4 pounds..so hoping for a good size preemie!!
Keep babes baking!!! T P to you guys.
Keep us posted! I hope you can keep baby cooking for a little while longer
