I made a bunch of lactation cookies today. I found the recipe on this board, so thanks ladies! Anyway I was wondering how many I should eat a day in order to increase my supply? My supply has been decreasing slowly over the past month and we had to supplement with formula, which makes me feel like a failure. I have been taking fenugreek but that isn't enough. My son is also not wanting to nurse for very long and isn't getting all he needs in that time, so I have been pumping and giving him a bottle instead of nursing during the dayhe nurses well at night so I can make sure he gets what he needs. He lost weight and is only in the 4th percentile for his age in weight so it is important that I get him to eat. I would love to make enough that I can stop using the bottles and just nurse him again. I think he likes that he can get the milk so fast with the bottle that he doesn't like nursing very much anymore. Any advice of any kind would be welcomed.
I usually only ate 2-3 a day and saw an increase in supply. However, they are so yummy, I found myself eating sometimes twice that! Good luck! And don't ever feel like a failure... BFing is hard but you're doing it, and that counts for something!
