Rib Pain Relief?

I think things are spreading out in there. My rib pain started on my right side, and is more prominent there, but now my left side hurts too. Any BTDT moms have any tips to relieve the pain or is this just one of the joys of pregnancy that will feel better once LO comes?

Re: Rib Pain Relief?

  • I try sitting straight up for a min, to get him to shift.   But when I was pregnant with ds1 he pushed a rib out of place, and ds2 found the same one and now ds3 has found it too.

  • I use a heating pad and my OB recommended some Tylenol if it got really sore. I also try and massage LO to shift and that seems to have been helping lately.

  • Get on all 4s and slightly and slowly arch your back a couple times! As soon as I got down on the floor last night she immediately dropped out of my ribs and I wanted to cry it was so much relief lol

  • I've been in PT for this. Ice packs help too. Ouchies.
  • I know this doesn't work for everyone, but I'm able to sort of get my fingers under my ribs and push him down. He kicks like crazy, but it gives me a little relief.

Mine is working her way up into the right side of my rib cage frequently the last week or so.  It's so uncomfortable!  i normally end up leaning left and trying to rub that area to see if she shifts.

  • Mine is from how high my bump is and wearing a bra, not from LO climbing my ribs. I press into the sore spots and it gives some relief and so does leaning back while sitting.
