Last minute IUI questions

Good morning!  IUI #1 in a couple of hours...I hadn't worried or thought about it a ton, but now I'm suddenly nervous!  Some questions I just thought of...

- Should I take some pain reliever before?  I've heard a few people say it hurt, but not everyone.  I mostly worry b/c my HSG was so painful.

- Does DH ever come with you? 

- Is it odd that I still don't have O pain?  Last cycle we did TI w/ trigger and I started getting cramps within hours of the shot, which lasted for 3 days.  I guess I'm just paranoid that I feel nothing now.

    Good luck with your IUI.  No need for pain reliever.  I had a horribly painful HSG, but the IUI is pretty much like a pap and only takes a few seconds.  DH always came with me to the IUI, we made the appointments for first thing in the morning, so he could come before work.  I don't think I've ever identified O pain...I wouldn't worry yourself about that.  Good luck!!

    BFP #1: 2/15/12-Ectopic/Mtx at 6 wks
    BFP #2: 10/12/12-m/c at 5 wks. 
    BFP #3: 8/27/13
    Me: MTHFR, Low AMH (1.1), High NK cells and Antiphospholipid Antibodies.
    DH:MFI-Low morph (1%), DNA fragmentation: Excellent!
    5 rounds of clomid, 3 IUIs, and multiple non-medicated cycles- BFFN                                                      
    IVF with ICSI in August 2013 brought us our babies.  ER-9R, 7M, 4F w/ICSI  ET of 2-Grade 2 blasts. 
    + HPT at 6dp5dt. #1 (8dp5dt)- 105    #2 (13dp5dt)- 510  #3 (15dp5dt)- 960  #4 (17dp5dt)- 1889
    Dx shortened cervix, PTL, and preeclampsia during pregnancy.  Lots of medications and 13 weeks of bedrest, babies were born healthy at 34w4d!

    My first IUI was a little campy, but I didn't feel anything during the other 3.  

    DH came with me for 3 of the 4.  

    My ovulation pain varied cycle to cycle.

    September 2012: Start IF testing

    DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA  Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA

    October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos

    November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues.  Converted to freeze all due to lining issues.  2 blasts frozen on day 6!

    January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues

    April 2015: FET #2.1

    The only thing I have found uncomfortable is the speculum. It is so quick and it's over before you know it!

    Does DH ever come with you?
    Mine has been to all 3, it's nice to have the support and the fact that he is there during the potential conceivement of our future child.

    Most of my cramps happened the day f the IUI and a couple day after.

    Age: Me 26, DH 27, Married Oct. 10, 2009 ,TTC since March 2012
    Problem: Irregular menstruation, unexplained
    Nov&Dec-Provera because of no period after 35+ days
    First RE appt 1/10/2013
    Tests: TSH (normal), Prolactin (normal), SA (abnormal)
    Hysteroscopy (normal) and PCOS labs (negative/normal) 1/15/2013
    2/1/13- HPT BFP but Beta Hcg was negative
    Plan: Femara + Trigger + IUI in April if no real BFP before then Bloggy Blog!

    Mine wasn't painful, but I'm sure you could take some Tylenol before if you're worried.

    DH didn't come with me because he did his thing beforehand and went back to work.



    Me: 32 DH: 31.
    B/W: good. SA: good.
    November 2012: Paratubal cyst found during U/S.
    January 10, 2013: Lap removed paratubal cyst and Stage 2 Endometriosis. 
    3 cycles of Femara + TI = BFNs

    June 2013: Femara 2.5 mg, Gonal F Injects 37.5 IU, Menopur, trigger + IUI = BFN

    July 2013: Femara 2.5 mg, Gonal F Injects 75 IU, Menopur, trigger + IUI = BFP!!!!

    Beta 1 @ 11 DPIUI = 76. Progesterone = 27.3

    BFP 8/16/2013 // EDD 4/28/2014

    Jordan Samuel born April 19, 2014. 6 lb, 12 oz and 18 inches long.

    My IUI was actually pretty uncomfortable and I plan on taking some Tylenol tomorrow before # 2.

    DH came with me, I told him if I am going to get KU you better be around :)

    May - September 2013:  Follistim + Ovidrel + IUI#1-4 = BFN
    IVF # 1 November 2013: transferred 1 perfect blast = BFN
    IVF # 2 April 2014: Endo scrape, transferred 2 blasts = BFP!! (first ever!), CP

    Thanks!  I was surprised with how quick it was.  I did have pain and got light headed for about 30 seconds, but after resting there 10 min, I was good to go.  Now I head out for a mini vacay, which will at least help the 2ww go by faster.
