DS can do a few steps at a time, but not real walking yet. The steps started two or three weeks ago maybe...just before 10 months, which was exactly when DD took her first steps, too. I think it was about a month between her first steps and real walking.
DS is 10.5 months and is walking pretty much all the time now. If he wants to get somewhere really fast he will still crawl but he is getting good at walking quick it's crazy!

Do your walkers stand independently, as in without pulling up on something? I'm curious if this is a progression to walking. DD has taken a step or two between furniture while cruising, but can't stand without pulling up on furniture, a wall, toy, etc.this makes me thing we have a while before walking still.nbsp;
Yes my DS can stand up without holding onto something. He will put one knee up then pushes up to stand. Not sure if it helped him with walking.

Amir can stand by himself doing the squat method.

James is 10 months as of yesterday and pretty much walks everywhere with occasional crawling. He started standing and taking steps around 9 months. He's gotten really fast in the last week or so.
He can stand up without pulling up on something, but that didn't precede taking steps.

DD can stand without pulling up but usually chooses to crawl, pull up, then walk.
Ds took steps on Sunday, more on Monday, and since then has walked across the living room or kitchen several times by himself. If I wasn't by myself with him all the time I'd have some funny drunken sailor video by now, but I never get the chance to whip out my camera in time.
Oliver has been taking steps for about a month, but started for real full on walking everywhere all the time about 3 weeks ago. It happened in the blink of an eye. Kid is growing too fast!!

I am intrigued by the squat walk though...what is that that Amir is doing?
