Just wondering what folks think - my lovely friends are throwing me a shower about a month after LO comes. Both live in small apartments and both have cats, which I'm allergic to. My mom suggested that they might want to use the common area lounge in my building, which she'd pay for. Does it seem weird if it's technically at my place? I'm definitely not hosting, it just seems like the most logical location and I can't say I wouldn't mind not having to take the babe out for the day. I don't think they'll mind if I suggest it, but wanted to see what y'all thought.
Re: Shower in our condo lounge?
I hosted a shower for a close friend at her own home. She had just had surgery on her foot, and she couldn't drive but needed to have the shower in a certain time window because she was adopting internationally. Also, her mom has Alzheimer's, and the shower needed to be in a space that was comfortable and familiar.
It was unusual, but certainly better than demanding that the MTB and GTB be uncomfortable and inconvenienced for propriety's sake.
Her husband took her out for a drive while the other hostesses and I got in there and set things up. She came back after the guests had mostly arrived, and we did the shower as usual. Afterwards, she didn't have to load up all the gifts! The hostesses stuck around and put all the stuff away for her and cleaned up her house. Worked perfectly under the circumstances.
No, you are perfectly find having it at your place, as long as the work is done by your hosts. Well, and if it were me I'd clean like crazy too...but I'm kind of crazy like that! Have fun!
Henry Cavill...You're welcome!
