I'm so stress its crazy . First I haven't be able to go to the dr or find a dr yet because of my medicaid not kicking in they want alot of information that is hard to give them. I feel bad cause were suppose to be moving to another apt but have no money the rent and if we do get the money it will all go for the first month's rent. So that leaves no money for food and as much as I been eating I feel like i'm being stingy but I have to feed the baby and my son and I' always hungry. Idk just so stress and I'm sad my lil baby is feeling it . Sorry I just had to let it out !

I'm sorry that you're dealing with all of this. Could you apply for aid (aside from medicaid), or is there someone who could help you financially? You and your son both need to eat.

This. Look into some churches and see if they have meals during the week. I know ours offers free meals on Tuesday nights and there is ALWAYS stuff to take home (muffins, bread, bagels, etc.). Many school districts/cities offer free lunches to children under 18 during the summer as well.

Otherwise, look for some simple, cheap recipe ideas online and start cooking from scratch. I am a big fan of pasta and sauce; rice (buy the bigger bag of long cooking, it's usually less than $2 and lasts a long time) mixed with beans (again, get the dried and cook them up!) and diced tomatoes; cheese sandwiches; whole carrots that you peel yourself; a can of chick peas mashed up makes great hummus and is good protein; a large can of oatmeal mixed with some brown sugar or cinnamon is easy, cheap and tasty too. The only person that can help is my husband father which has been helping us here and there. I been praying and trying to find another way to get some kind of assistance . It's hard but i'm not going t give up I just wish it was a little easier .

I would definitely echo looking into church resources. I don't know where you're located, but many Catholic churches have an organization called St Vincent de Paul Society that provides totally confidential assistance to people who are having some of the same struggles as you. Food, fuel, clothing... you name it, they can usually get their hands on it. Local food pantry are another option and they generally will take all comers, it's not like you need to pass a needs test first. Exploring WIC might be another option, they provide nutritional assistance to pregnant and nursing moms and kids under a certain age. They are means tested, but the approval process is generally pretty quick!

Perhaps you could move in with family/friends for a while till you get on your feet.

Things will work out! There are churches, shelters and some other govt prorgrams for pregnant women. Although, I dont know where you are located. Have faith and stay positive. Look around. Resources are there when you need them.

Yea our situation was good we found a place put the deposit we had to move to a 2 bedroom because our son is over 12 months. My husband had gotten paid today and looked in the bank and they took $280 out for a payment my husband was going to pay later on our apt was more important. On fathers day was when I found out I wouldnt have known i was pregnant but my son kept giving me signs. An the medicaid thing I been applying even before I found out I was pregnant for my son but they kept giving me problems.

Take some time and gather all the info for Medicaid. It's hard but important. You need to do that.

Apply for WIC. Talk to them about other things you qualify for. If you apply for Medicaid there are likely other programs you qualify for. Call today, right now.

See if you can pick up a part time job when your son's father or someone else can watch your son.

Call Planned Parenthood. Some do maternity care, or at least early maternity care.

Medicade will pay 60days worth of back medical bills, thats how a babys hospital stay is covered even though they dont have a Medicade number or SSN. Go to a Dr, and sign in as self pay, and give them your medicade number when you get it.

I really want to say thank yall ladies for the advice,and the kind words ! I called and thankfully I found help and a church. I'm going to try and get as much information as i can today so when monday comes i can turn it in. Thank yall again :')
