Feel free to just say TDLDR
I just need to say this.
So my DH did Army ROTC four years in college and excelled for the most part. He went to Airborne school, Air assault school and was cadet commander more than once. He never had grade issues(lots of cadets either temporarily lose scholarships for bad grades or lost it all together) he also never failed PT tests except for one (more in that later)
Cadets go to a summer camp between their junior and senior year and are graded. He wasn't the best cadet but didn't fail at anything. :: Well he ended up graduating six months past his estimated graduation date because of one class ::no big deal:: the professor of military science was all up in arms about it and basically threatened his military career :: when you graduate you become an officer in the army, you have four years of obligation and you can either stay or get out:: well DH slaked on PT after LO was born and thought he didn't need another test until dec 2012. The PMS decided to spring one on him 2 months earlier and he failed. Granted he should have stayed up with it but he failed the run by 2 secs. TWO Fing SECONDS. So the PMS started his dis enrollment. I wasn't happy. Told him to fight it but I could tell he didn't really want it anymore. So fast forward to today and he got a call from his PMS to come in for a meeting. His boss ::brigade commander:: basically told him he was an hat and had no right to dis enroll DH from the program.
:we had a buddy who did ROTC too and lost his scholarship twice, so his parents paid school. He also failed camp and had to go back. Ther went through the same program!! And the PMS ::professor of military science:: fought for this kid and he ended up getting EVERYTHING he wanted::
I'm of course elated because I LOVE the military. DH seems pretty happy tonight too. He has been struggling with his currant civilian job and I think this is a great life change for us. I'm just worried that he may just be saying he's ok with it and still having doubts.
I guess I just need some thoughts and prayers sent our way. Hopefully our life path is changing for the better!!
