To those who have or are planning on using CD's, what does your newborn stash look like? I am planning on using disposables for the first few weeks just to get over the initial chaos. So far I have 6 Grovia newborn AIO's, 6 Charlie Banana newborns pockets and 2 Kawaii P&N. I was thinking of getting a few GMD workhorses and a few covers but don't know how many to buy.
So what does your newborn stash look like? Any BTDT moms with any advice?

I washed every other day, but only changed the cover when it was actually wetwhich was hardly ever, pooped in or if it was used for more than 3 pee changes.
2 dozen GMD prefolds, 4 or so newborn covers (with low dip for cord), 5 xs small Thirsties covers. The XS Thirsties fit right away, but I like to wait until the cords stump falls off.
I have a similar stash for the small/next size as well. And medium, I think. I also have several fuzzibunz in small, those are new to me for that size so I can't remember when they'll fit...a few weeks in probably. I also have a wool cover and a Mother-ease Airflow cover in small and medium.
Cutting fabric for more wipes tonight (until I ran out of steam from whole day and just quit haha).
Oh and I now have 3 workhorse no closure dipes in nb, small and medium thanks to a thoughtful friend
. I had just bought some used nb, 6, I think, so I'll have 9 total which is great. Maybe I should sell a dozen of my nb prefolds...I can't see needing 2 doz prefolds plus 9 nb workhorses. Maybe I'll wait and see.
I'm sure I won't wash every day. Every other day or every 3 days. I need to try to not go 4...at least while my mom is with us for a couple of weeks, diaper laundry will get done more often.
If I'm reading this correctly, you have enough diapers to get you through one day. Everything you mentioned is a one-time only thing - pee/poop and you need a new CD. Even if you use disposables for a few weeks, you definitely don't have enough diapers to CD full-time. I think your idea of some fitteds or prefolds with a cover is great! Esp for newborn. They are inexpensive and since newborns pee/poop a lot, its easy to throw on a new prefold with the same cover (as long as it was a pee dipe).
My newborn stash is mostly fitteds (about 25 - both Kissaluvs and WAHM) and prefolds (about 2 dozen). I wash every other day newborn (although that might change since I will have two sets of CDs to wash - haven't really thought about that yet!).

Yes, I have a blog and it's hilarious (except when it's not)
I have not CD'd before, but this is what we're going with for the newborn stage:
24 newborn prefolds (12 GMD, 12 of some other brand...)
3 rumparooz covers
3 bummis covers
6 GMD fitteds
6 wahm pockets (from Cow Patties Cloth Diapers...mostly for the super cute prints!)
3 snappis
I'm going to print out your response and show it to DH. "SEE?! I need more cloth!!!!!!!"

I mean, can you ever reallllly have enough CDs? The answer to that is NO! Yeah, my DH doesn't question me anymore. If I see a good deal or say we need more of 'this' he just lets me go. I will say that I'm not an addict though. I buy only what we need because I really do want to save money with CDs. It is a hobby for some moms and its super addicting so beware :-D
My newborn stash is the following:
12 (yellow edge) GMD prefolds
24 (orange edge) GMD prefolds
(+3 snappies)
2 litewrap newborn covers
1 alvababy newborn pocket
1 Kawaii newborn bamboo pocket
and a wackload of bamboo/microfiber inserts for boosters
And I have a nice stash of pockets from different companies for when baby is bigger that "claim" to work for babies as low as 6-8 lbs, but I don't plan on using these until later.
I plan on washing every other day if I can.
You probably weren't posting for feedback, but do you only have 2 covers for nb? I'd recommend at least 4, even 5.
I just had both kinds of covers out yesterday, and I think you're right that the Thirsties XS is a little smaller than the snapped down duo size 1.
24 GMD orange-edged prefolds
12 GMD yellow-edged prefolds
4 GMD orange workhorse fitteds
2 Blueberry mini-coveralls
1 Thirsties XS cover
1 Bummies Superbright S cover
1 Tots Bots Flexiwrap
1 Bummies Superwhisper Wrap
2 Swadlebees Simplex
2 Tots Bots Teeny Fit
1 Grovia Newborn
1 Blueberry Mini Deluxe
Snappies, wet bags, CD safe cream, cloth wipes etc
Probably a bit overboard but it's hard to restrain myself!
10 WAHM fitteds
18 prefolds
6 covers
