DS is still RFing in both my car and DH's car, but part of me is wondering if I should turn him FF already. I know he is safest RFing as long as possible, but it is getting very difficult to get DS into his car seat in DH's car... It's so bad I wonder how DH even gets him in there.
We turned him FF back in September when we installed the infant carseat base in preparation for DD. He was 21 months. We would have loved to keep him RF, but we had to flip him in order for both seats to fit & for MH & I to be able to fit in the front to drive (well, more MH than me).
We turned him this month. It's really been a debate between DH and I since B turned 2. I finally caved, mainly because I was tired of arguing and because it made me feel a little bad to see B get sweaty hair and a red flushed face just from a short car ride. It's so hot down here and the a/c didn't make it around the protective sides of his car seat when he was RFing.

I definitely understand the AC thing. It's one of the factors making me reconsider FFing. It is very hot and humid here too.
We've been FF since 2 years. Honestly, it was just too boring for her to be RF. She's so much happier since we turned her around, and we can actually have conversations and such while I'm driving.
We switched right after he turned 2. I'm glad we made the switch because he would get so hot last summer. We don't have to worry about sweaty red faces anymore because he has an air vent that goes straight to him in the back.

Same. We can't put a rf behind H. But now J is too tall to RF anyway - he would have been too tall before he turned 2 (well, for the Graco seat, but not for the Evenflo seat).
We turned DD when she was 1.5 - She was much happier once we did. We had just taken a 6.5 road trip and it was not easy trying to keep her entertained RF. Also it was harder to keep her cool since the seat was blocking the airflow. As long as the seat is installed correctly and she is in the seat properly I was fine with it. It makes me crazy when FB friends take pictures of their LO's in the car and they are not buckled correctly in their carseats. It is very hard for me not to comment about it. DD was with me when I rolled my truck when she was just 5 months old so I'm very on top of making sure I get her in her seat correctly every single time.
I think we turned her in Jan or Feb. It was a little while after she turned 2. I kept hitting her head on the top of the car when I was putting her in RF. I was starting to feel bad about it.
We turned O just before Christmas-so right after he turned 2. We had to switch him in my H's car because he had outgrown the Sencera for height rear facing. Once we changed him around in one car he really fought us RF in the other vehicles so we just turned them too. He is much happier FF and it is nice to be able to interact with him while driving now. We play the red-light green-light game and what color is that house...we read street signs, etc.

We flipped her seat around in April, right after my parents took her to Disney. They had put the seat in their car forward facing. She enjoyed the trip more since she could see out the window better. It is easier to keep her entertained on car rides and hand her something if she needs a drink or snack.
I'm hoping to ERF til G is at least 3. Yeah, it's inconvenient a lot of the time. His head gets bumped and I have to blast the A/C. I still feel like it's worth it.
DS is 38" tall and 34 pounds and is still RFing. My goal is 3. My DD was a peanut and we turned her at 2y9m but she had outgrown her seats RFing. DS is in a Diono Radian in both of our cars and has plenty of room above his head.

Like the two PPs, C is still RFing and hope to make it to 3. He's never said a peep about it though lots of other people that it doesn't affect like to make their own comments! We don't have the sweaty head problem really in our car for some reason and he stays pretty occupied. Occasionally he asks to get out but I just remind him that we're all buckled in for safety and I'll pick him up soon. I think he'd do this even if he was FF though.
He did ride FF once in FIL's car in his extra seat (Scenara) b/c it was impossible to get in RFing. He enjoyed it but think he just associates that with FIL so has never asked about it.

Nate is still RF and I prefer him that way. At 25 lbs, if he was much shorter, he could be in the infant seat! We had a rental car though last week that I had to put him FF in so I could scoot the seat back enough to drive (tiiiny car!) He seemed much happier that way, so now I'm debating if I should turn him or not. I can't decide if listening to him squawk is worth it or not. He's just so tiny still!
Charlie is still rear facing, but he has a super long torso and is aaaaalmost at the top of the shell. :-( We have two My Ride 65's and there is no way we can spend $300 x2 on bigger convertibles that'll last another few months RF. Once he grows out of the RF, he'll turn FF, then when Ginny needs the convertibles we are getting him 5 point harness high backs for the cars.
::tear:: My little boy is growing up!
Also, I'm not ready for him to be able to see what we're drinking/eating in the front seat. I don't wanna share!!
"I wanted you more than you'll ever know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go."
Still RF here. We have zero problems with it. He fits, he's comfortable, he's happy, he's not too hot, he carries on conversations, I never hit head head on the way in, he can see really well out the windows, he's safer. I'm really happy we've been so lucky with it so far! I plan to keep him that way as long as possible, even past 3.
We just switched to FF a few months ago. My DH put the seat in that way one day after we had removed it to put in his car. I was sick to my stomach about it for a few days and wanted her rear facing. She was so much happier and cooler I felt bad turning her around. So now she is FF.

Haha, that's my complaint with J being FF... he always wants my food/drink!
We turned him in November, a month before his 2nd birthday. He was nearing the height limit and we were switching his car seat to a rental car temporarily, so it just seemed like the right time.
I can't tell you how many times people asked or commented about him being RF past a year. I got a lot of "what will you do when his legs don't fit" and "he'd probably be happier looking out the front". Seriously? This coming from the person whose LO rides shotgun around town? The one who thinks the chest clip is a belly clip? I'll keep my LO rear facing as long as I see fit, thanks.
FF, because the seat we inherited was FF only. We even switched him before he was 2 because of this. We eventually got a new seat that had a RF capability but once he had been FF we didn't think we could switch him back. It also seemed harder to install RF so we didn't want to bother. I fully acknowledge that RF is safer, though, really for everyone. Frankly, the back seats of cars should all be RF!
We are trying to RF as long as we can. DS has long legs, so I think he'll size out height-wise before he sizes out of the seat for weight.
FWIW, we don't spend a ton of time in the car, with the exception of vacations, so DS doesn't get that bored. If we had a long commute daily, I don't know if that would impact my feelings about it.

We turned him FF at about 19 or 20 months when we installed the infant seat for DS2.
We couldn't fit two RF carseats in our car and have enough room for the driver to fit (mainly DH).

RF in my car, but FF in H's car. About two months ago, H turned the seat. E's fairly tall, and I guess H thought he would be more comfortable FF.
I will keep E rear facing until he reaches the limits on the car seat.
