In my experience, they are all really hot (bad time of year!)... there are some mesh ones designed for taking LO's swimming. IDK if they are safe to use normally though.

I don't have either one, just a Chicco one, but I agree with Cotterpin, I think they are just hot in general. I would be scared to wear her outside for any extended period right now because I think she would get dangerously warm. Even indoors it's not great.
Ditto others- I think they're both hot cause babe's body and yours are so close. (I have an ergo.) I just went to a baby carrier talk and the bobas are so cute! (Those are the ones like the ergo but with neat patterns. . . or maybe I'm getting confused.) Kinda wish I knew about them before I got the ergo- I love my ergo though.
I was just on the Boba website ... did you see the Boba Air? That looks like it would breathe better and not be so hot. I actually think I'm going to order one for our trip to Italy next month.
I haven't really used any carriers since she was tiny (I wore her in the moby on my maternity leave, but not much since then). I love the idea that DH and I can both use this, and that will make it so we don't always have to have the stroller with us on all the excursions!
